Paris Geller transformed into a well-known and loved character after starting out as the school’s mean girl in the series Gilmore Girls. She starts out as Rory Gilmore’s enemy, both competing for the top spot to get into ivy league universities, but soon learns that they are stronger together, and become best friends throughout the series. Paris will say anything and everything, regardless of if it makes the people around her uncomfortable.
I think we can all say that we have felt like the dating scene is just not for us, either temporarily or for years on end. Paris knows exactly what this feels like, due to her blunt honesty and oftentimes intimidating personality. If you are strong-minded with enough honesty to go around the room, you might feel like Paris with struggling on dates.
Paris absolutely couldn’t care less what people think about her, and she is always the first to say how she feels. She is not even remotely patient and doesn’t want people to think she is. Who can’t say they run out on patience every now and then? Although, for Paris, running out of patience is anything but a random occurrence; she has no time for anyone’s BS! If the truth hurts, then so be it, because Paris just doesn’t care!
Now, I know we have all felt like this a time or twenty before. Even if you are an extroverted people-person, sometimes we just don’t want to deal with other people. Although Paris is very vocal when in a social situation, she enjoys her alone time and being away from all the noise. She doesn’t mind spending a Saturday night on the couch or getting some extra studying time in instead of going out.
Sometimes, we just think people are acting stupid. Paris thinks this about 99% of the people she comes across, considering she is top of the class at Yale. She cares more about having the highest GPA in school than anything else, and when it comes to group projects, she uses intimidation to get the job done. As long as her group isn’t lazy, she knows she can get them to do the work properly and on time. Paris is anything but lazy, having her entire life scheduled out, even for leisure time. If she can scare the stupid out, she knows her group will succeed.
We’ve all just wanted to sit on the couch, watch movies, and eat a lot of Chinese food with our best friend for moral support. Paris Geller is no exception to this. Whether you are just struggling in the single life or just had your heart broken, there is nothing better than staying in with your friends for a movie night and some good food.
Paris Geller cares about one thing and one thing only: being the best in her school. Having the highest GPA at Yale is her ultimate goal so she can get into every last one of the best law and medical schools in the nation. Maybe we don’t think about studying all the time year-round like Paris does, but we’ve all been there when midterms and finals come around. No matter how much we study, we feel like we need to study more. Sometimes, breaks aren’t even enjoyed because we are so focused on how little time we have to learn and master all of the information. When midterms and finals season is in session, we can all relate to Paris Geller a little bit more than usual!
Have you ever walked into a party someone invited you to and thought, “It’s going to be a long night”? This is exactly how Paris feels when going out and trying to have the full college experience. Even if you enjoy going out or partying, sometimes you get dragged into a situation where it is just not fun, and it seems like everyone is having more fun than you. It’s the worst feeling, and Paris knows exactly what it’s like!
Paris Geller is by far one of the most driven characters a show has ever had. She is more determined than anyone would ever dream of being. It honestly must be exhausting being that focused on the end goal 24/7, but that’s Paris for you! When she has a goal in mind, she focuses all her energy on accomplishing it. We’ve all probably had times like this, maybe just not as often as Paris does!
With an overbearing, controlling nature, Paris doesn’t want to be in the car with anyone else driving. As she said it best, if we’re going to die in a car crash, it’s going to be the fault of hers and no one else. Maybe we’re not like this all the time, but if you have a friend or family member who is crazy on the road, it’s best to take over for everyone’s safety!
Although most people think studying for your entire life is not the most exciting thing in the world, Paris is determined to be the best at everything she does. Reading a biography about yourself and being bored sounds like a nightmare, and Paris is determined to not have that happen to her. Her version of excitement is getting into every law and medical school she can, so she spends her entire life working towards these goals. Regardless of if that sounds like your lifestyle, I think we can all agree we want to look back on our lives and smile, not think we were boring.
