10 Thoughts That Go Through Your Head As You Approach College Graduation

College graduation is upon us. I am actually terrified and excited at the same time. College is all I have known for the last 8 years. It’s going to be a new chapter in my life. Although it’s a new chapter we have to make it to graduation. So, here are 10 thoughts that are going through my head as I approach graduation that you can definitely relate to.

1. Holy Crap, Graduation Is Only A Few Months Away!

Woah! It’s March? Already? Crap! Just a minute ago I was on winter break and now graduation is only two months away! It doesn’t feel like it though. I still have all these assignments to finish. I have to do my discussion for the week and I have to hand in my alumni profile piece. Wait, do I have all the requirements for my portfolio fulfilled? Omg, it feels like freshman year was yesterday.

2. How The Crap Am I Gonna Pay These Student Loans?

I’m like $60,000 in debt already. I already used up my grace period. What am I supposed to do? I barely have enough for gas in my car. I’m going to need a job fast so I can start making payments. Oh please Lord, let me marry a rich person tomorrow.

3. Will I Be Able To Get A Job Right After I Graduate?

I’m a writer. Crap, I’m not gonna be able to get a job right after my college graduation. I should have just sucked it up and been a nurse. Nursing is a guaranteed job but no, I had to follow my heart and become a writer. Why must I make things difficult? Well, I’m almost done, I might as well stick to it.

4. Is My Resume Updated?

I think it’s updated. Oh, who am I kidding, I haven’t looked at my resume since 2017.

5. Oh No, No More Student Discounts!

After this graduation, I won’t be able to get student discounts anymore! That 10% off at the grocery store really does help. What am I supposed to do now, pay full price like everyone else?

6. I Have To Leave My Friends!

I made so many friends since freshman year. I’m probably never going to see them again. I’m not even being dramatic, my home is 7 hours away. Let’s be honest after our college education we’re never going to see each other. We can’t just take time out of our adulting to travel to see one another. Who will I hang out with now? Oh God, I miss them already.

7. But No More Essays!

Wait a minute, this means I won’t have to do anymore essays. To think of all the time I spent researching and writing essays, I’m so happy it will be over!

8. No More Midterms!

God, they were such a waste of time. They were pretty much the bane of my existence. I was always a crappy test taker. I don’t have to stress about those ever again.

9. No More Dragging Myself To Class!

Oh my goodness, it was torture dragging myself to 5 classes in a day three times a week. I’m not a morning person so going to my classes back-to-back killed me. I can’t believe I won’t have to do that ever again.

10. Thank God, It’s Going To Be Over!

Now that I think of it, I’m so excited to graduate. I was scared but now, I can’t wait until I walk across the stage. My college graduation is going to be amazing!
