This Is The Perfect Valentine’s Day Playlist For Everyone

Love is in the air, and so is coronavirus. This pandemic has driven everyone bananas, but if there’s one thing that remains universal and comforting in times like this, it’s music.
Whether you are single, in a relationship, crushing on someone, heartbroken, celebrating with family, or you’re just a lover of all types of love, this is the perfect Valentine’s Day playlist for everyone.

Self-Love Songs

Your Valentine’s Day playlist should start off with some songs that celebrate you as an individual. All my single friends out there will appreciate songs that are dedicated to them. Being single does not make someone lonely or unhappy. Let me say it louder for the people in the back: being single does NOT make someone lonely or unhappy! Period!
If you’re looking for some good love songs for the self, here are some of my favorites:
Good As Hell by Lizzo
Love Myself by Hailee Steinfeld
Rare by Selena Gomez
Scars To Your Beautiful by Alessia Cara
Born This Way by Lady Gaga
I’m A Mess by Bebe Rexha
Midnight Sky by Miley Cyrus
On Top Of The World by Imagine Dragons
All About That Bass by Meghan Trainor
I Love Me by Demi Lovato
This is sure to get you pumped for a day all about you and feeling great. You deserve it, after all.

Romantic Love

If you’re looking for something more intimate for your Valentine’s Day playlist, I’ve got you covered. These are songs you can slow dance to or sing to each other in the cheesiest way.
Lover by Taylor Swift
Easy by Camila Cabello
Hey Stupid, I Love You by JP Saxe
There’s No Way by Lauv and Julia Michaels
Invisible String by Taylor Swift
Grow As We Go by Ben Platt
A Thousand Years by Christina Perri
Make You Feel My Love by Adele
Tenerife Sea by Ed Sheeran
Lucky by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat
There are bonus points given if you decide to learn how to perform these songs on guitar or piano for your lover. I love a good serenading session, so consider doing these things as a romantic gesture.

Cute Crush

Sometimes, you need some songs on your Valentine’s Day playlist that will explain your feelings for someone else that you have been crushing on for some time. That teenage feeling of butterflies in your stomach can be released through listening to these hits.
Crush by David Archuleta
Delicate by Taylor Swift
My My My! by Troye Sivan
Hey There Delilah by Plain White T’s
If My Heart Was A House by Owl City
I Really Like You by Carly Rae Jepsen
Into You by Ariana Grande
Wish You Were Sober by Conan Gray
August by Taylor Swift
Say It First by Sam Smith
This is also a great list to send to your crush if you want them to understand how you feel about them without saying it in your own words. Just let the music speak for you and the rest will be history! Consider a mixtape you can send them or just blare the music as you drive by their house with the windows down. Whatever makes you feel better is a safe bet.

Heartbroken

A Valentine’s Day playlist also needs to be inclusive for those who are hurting during this time. There are many people experiencing heartbreak perhaps from a messy breakup or through grief. These are some songs that have helped me and I know they’ll be a comfort for you, too.
Someone Like You by Adele
Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi
How To Save A Life by The Fray
Breakeven by The Script
Consequences by Camila Cabello
Exile by Taylor Swift and Bon Iver
Coney Island by Taylor Swift and The National
The Scientist by Coldplay
Blue Moon by Josh Hill and Little Limbo
Lose You To Love Me by Selena Gomez
Also, if you are hurting, my heart goes out to you and I hope you find comfort during this time from friends, family, and loved ones. You deserve love as much as anyone else does.

Family Love

Many of you might be spending Valentine’s Day with your family. While some might think it to be a strange thing, there’s no harm in celebrating love for your parents or your siblings. The list below is for you.
I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack
Daughters by John Mayer
Wagon Wheel by Darius Rucker
Never Grow Up by Taylor Swift
The Best Day by Taylor Swift
Mother by Kacey Musgraves
Mother by Sugarland
Hey Brother by Avicii
My Wish by Rascal Flatts
Count On Me by Bruno Mars
Before you know it, you and your entire family will be belting out these songs in a living room karaoke session, and I’m here for that. Who knows, maybe it will bring you guys closer together as well.

Celebrating Love

Honestly, Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be a celebration of loved ones in your life. You can celebrate love in general, no matter what shape or form it comes in. Here’s a great list to round out your Valentine’s Day playlist.
Say Hey (I Love You) by Michael Franti, Spearhead, and Cherine Tanya Anderson
Today Was A Fairytale by Taylor Swift
For Once In My Life by Stevie Wonder
I’m In The Mood For Love by Jools Holland and Jamiroquai
Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding
Only Love by Katy Perry
Where Is The Love? by Black Eyed Peas
Same Love by Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, and Mary Lambert
Accidentally In Love by Counting Crows
Can’t Stop The Feeling! by Justin Timberlake
What I love about these songs is that they celebrate all of the triumphs that love accomplishes. In this dark time with the pandemic and civic unrest, it’s important to be reminded that there is power in love and that can be communicated through music.

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! What other tracks do you recommend for this epic playlist? Leave a comment and let me know!
