10 Things You’re Doing Wrong Your First Time Hooking Up With Her

You’ve had your eye on this girl for a while, and you’ve finally gotten the chance to talk to her. There are a few things you should know before taking it a step further, however. Keep reading for 10 things you’re doing wrong your first time hooking up with her.

1. You’re using too much tongue.

OK, so you went in for the kiss, and now you’re making out. That’s great, but beware of your tongue. Using too much tongue is a sure-fire way to never get a text back, so definitely keep that in check.

2. You’re too nervous.

If you have been waiting a long time to hook up with this girl, you might be a little nervous. Try not to psych yourself out! If you’re too nervous, she might pick up on it and think that something is wrong.

3. You’re too drunk.

Nothing is cute about being too drunk to hook up. If you want things to go well, don’t go for it with her when you have had a few too many. (And definitely don’t even think about it if she is too drunk.)

4. Your roommate is in the room.

Alright, if you’re in a dorm, sometimes this is unavoidable. But do you really want your first time hooking up with her to be 5 feet away from your snoring roommate? Not exactly the most romantic.

5. You’re not paying attention to what she wants.

It is always extremely obvious when guys are only out for themselves during a hookup. If you aren’t doing anything to please her, or if you’re only giving it 50%, it will quickly become a huge turnoff.

6. You’re assuming too much.

Just because you’re at second base doesn’t mean you will automatically make it to third. Communicate with her and make sure you have consent every step of the way.

7. You’re too focused on bringing her back with you.

Enjoy the moment! If you’re just making out, then make it a great make out. If she is down to do more than that, then go from there. Don’t immediately start trying to get her to spend the night, you’re only going to come off looking like a tool.

8. You’re forcing it.

If it isn’t the right time, then it isn’t the right time. Trying to make a magical moment happen when it is just not going to happen will not make any sparks fly, so don’t force it!

9. You’re moving too fast.

There is nothing more eye-roll-inducing than when you give a girl that look 10 minutes into Netflix and chill. There is no rush, so don’t move too fast with her. Take your cues from her and, again, enjoy the moment.

10. You’re too late.

If you’re texting her at 2am, you’re too late. Your first time hooking up with her should probably be sometime before the sun comes up. (Unless you’re just being spontaneous! Then you do you.)
