8 Things You’ll Understand If You’re A Girl Who Likes Football
With so many women becoming passionate about sports, gone are the days where football is a guy’s thing. Yes, that’s right girls like football too who knew? No matter what team you support, if you’re a girl who likes football, you will be able to relate to this article.
1. “What’s the offside rule?”
As a girl who likes football you’re so used to getting asked this question that you already have your answer memorised off by heart. For some reason, it’s so hard for people (particularly guys) to believe that girls can like football too, so they will always try and catch you out by asking you what the offside rule is.
2. That dumbfounded look you receive when you know what the offside rule is
After you answer their question perfectly you will nearly always receive a look of shock that you know what you are talking about. That soon shut them up, didn’t it!
3. You shout a lot
No matter how quiet you may come across normally as soon as it comes to football you’re a completely different person. Whenever you’re watching the match you’ll be shouting at the ref, singing the songs and generally letting out squeals of excitement every so often.
4. You don’t just watch for the hot men
When people find out you like football they’ll often say it’s just for the hot men but it’s not. Granted the hot men are a bonus but it’s not why you watch it, you just love the game.
5. You’re used to being insulted by others
You’re used to being on the end of some harsh criticism including comments about you trying too hard by pretending to like football for men’s attention. You tend to just laugh and move on with your life as you know the comments are nonsense.

6. The start of the season is your favourite time
There is no better time of year that when the new season starts and you get to watch your favourite team again after that long break. You get to check out the new players and your weekends suddenly have meaning again, it’s great.
7. You must date a boy who understands your love for football
It is important that any boy you end up dating must understand that football is the other love in your life. Also, whilst your dad may prefer you to date a boy who supports the same team, you don’t mind some friendly rivalry.
8. Your team is SO important to you
Finally, your team is EVERYTHING. You will defend them and support them no matter what. That means if they drop down to the lowest league you’ll be there or if they win you’ll be there because that’s what fans do. You also take rivalries very seriously so you automatically dislike rival teams and often get into debates with their fans.
