After attending CSUSB for four years, I must say that I regret not participating in almost all of our campus events. I was that one student who went to class, didn’t talk to anyone, and went straight home. I really didn’t give myself the chance to experience college life. This will definitely be one of the greatest regrets in my life. This is a great way to meet new people and form some lasting bonds. Don’t be like me, go out and find your future brother and sisters.
Although, I loved staying with my grandparents off-campus- I never really had the chance to experience dorm life. You should try it, at least for a semester.
I usually bought all of my necessary materials at the bookstore, and always studied at my home. It’s best to utilize all of your resources. Studying would’ve been easier, and it’s a great way to connect with classmates.
Save your twenty dollars a month for something more tangible, and utilize the gym you paid for in your tuition. The only time I stepped foot in mine was during the freshman tour during the summer.
If you love giving back to the community try volunteering during Coyote Cares Day. Food drives are an excellent way of giving back, and helping those in need.
Just go. If you don’t, you’ll seriously question your life choices.
I mean a free movie and free popcorn. Who in their right mind would pass this up? Bring sure to bring a cuddle buddy and blanket.
With therapy dogs you can cuddle, free massages, and henna tattoo artists around there’s no way I’d miss that. It’s a great way to DE-stress and unwind while you wait for that exam grade to post on Blackboard.
Beer garden, jazz, and art exhibits should have you running towards the visual arts building. Don’t skip out on this, especially if you’re an art lover. Best thing, you can bring your family and little ones if have them.
One thing I absolutely regret is not going to Hilary Clinton’s rally at my school. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I missed it. So if you’re debating about what to do, rule of thumb- just go.
Again, at college nothing is ever free, but when there’s free food I’m in. Bring a friend and get your grove on because there’s always a live DJ.
Mic night is great when you want to listen to some authentic poetry and prose being read. Don’t take these nights for granted. We have some talented yoties on campus.
