At Texas Christian University, students come from all different backgrounds. However, when it comes to what you will never hear them say, they have a lot in common. Keep reading to find out 10 things that will never be said on campus.

1. “Let’s go to the BLUU instead.”

The BLUU is never a first option or anyone’s go-to. In reality, it’s usually your last option whenever you’re out of money and have to choose between starving or putting something edible in your body.

2. “There’s never any free stuff.”

This is something that is far from true. It is more often than not that various clubs and organizations hand out free food, T-shirts, or even Jamie Dixon bobble-heads to students just for showing up to a game or stopping by their club table. Another bonus is on the first week of school, the employees hand out free Chick-fil-A sandwiches by the Commons every single day.

3. “Football games are boring.”

In Texas, football is a religion and devout fans are its followers. Since football games at home are free for all students, everyone comes to support our boys in the Carter. Given how we have one of the best football programs led by Gary Patterson, football games are some of the best memories you will make.

4. “I have too many oversized T-shirts in my closet.”

Two words that every Texas Christian University student likes to hear: Comfort Colors. When walking around campus, be prepared to find the majority of girls wearing XL T-shirts, running shorts, and comfortable shoes. Over-sized T-shirts comprise the uniform at this private university, and even though you’ll look like everyone else, at least you’re comfy, right?

5. “Religion class isn’t that hard.”

Oh, religion. A class that every Texas Christian University student has to take and pass in order to graduate. Religion is one of the most difficult classes on campus, but thankfully, there are many different courses that satisfy this requirement ranging from studying World Religions to Christianity or Islam.

6. “Thursday nights are for studying.”

Thursday nights are by far the biggest night for going out. Formals, mixers, date nights, and College Nights at Billy Bob’s almost always take place on Thursdays. Plan your schedule wisely and think about staying in and studying if you have a test on Friday.

7. “The study rooms aren’t full at the library today.”

One of the great benefits at the library is being able to reserve study rooms for up to three hours a day. The problem is these rooms are limited and everyone wants a study room for their whiteboard walls and privacy. Reservations can be made up to 24 hours in advance, and if you want a chance at getting a room, I suggest getting online by then.

8. “The new flowers look beautiful today.”

At Texas Christian University, the flowerbeds around campus get switched out every two weeks. Most of the time, no one even notices that the purple flowers were replaced by white ones a few days ago.

9. “There are empty washers and dryers.”

After hauling your load of laundry around, the most disappointing feeling kicks in once you see all the washers and dryers are being used. Many students usually forget about their clothes and leave them sitting in the dryer for hours. Don’t be surprised if your laundry gets moved without your consent because you didn’t bother setting a timer.

1o. “I wish I went to Baylor.”

And lastly, we’re all just happy to not be a Baylor Bear. Living on campus with two caged bears, in the middle-of-nowhere Waco, and supporting a football team with a 1-11 record? Yeah, I’m good.
