Things you Should do Before Returning to School

As the fall semester is upon us, we must take advantage of the last few weeks or days of summer! We must be fully recharged and ready to take on a new semester! Make sure to catch up on sleep and take in the last few days of calm before classes resume and the partying begins again! This is also a necessary time to make sure that you cross everything off your summer bucket list so that you don’t leave summer with any regrets because you will have to wait another nine months or so! These days leading up to school are also super important for preparing for the semester ahead. So, make sure that you have everything organized to decorate your room, school supplies, toiletries, and of course, some new articles of clothing to mark the start of a new school year! Follow this list to ensure you get everything done before returning to school!

1. Beach day

If you haven’t had the opportunity to go to the beach this summer, this is your time to go! Don’t be scared to take some time off work and take a trip down to the beach! It would be best if you took advantage of the hot summer weather. The beach is a quintessential part of summer, and no summer is complete without a couple of fun beach days! Being at the beach will also allow you to relax and soak up the sun before heading back to what will most likely be a stressful semester. So, if you haven’t been able to go to the beach a lot this summer, I believe that this is something that you should do before heading back to school. After reading the article, pack up your beach bag, cooler, and car and drive to the nearest beach!

2. Ice cream

If you haven’t already, you need to go and get ice cream immediately! Yeah, sure, you can get ice cream throughout the year, but nothing entirely heads different than getting an ice cream cone after being in the hot scorching heat and sun all day! So make sure to go out and get all the ice cream before returning to school. Go to all of your favorite spots and get all of your favorite ice creams with no regrets. Going out for ice cream is fun with family and friends and spending time with them before you return. It’s an excellent way to try and get some family and friend time before the semester leaves! So if you haven’t already, I highly recommend going out and getting ice cream as often as possible before returning to school in the fall!

3. Order clothes

If you’re anything like me, then chances are you’ve come back from a spring semester, and now you’re starting to pack up for fall, and you realize that a lot of your clothes might still look dirty and disgusting from the washer and dryer machines at College! If you find this while you are packing, I highly recommend shopping. Go online and buy a few things to freshen up your wardrobe! Ordering clothes can be anything from items you like to wear to class to the joggers you love to wear to the late-night library, workout sets, or going out clothes. Order clothes can be anything you need! So I highly recommend ordering some fresh articles of clothing and outfits before heading off to school. Or, if you have an excellent mall or shops near you, I would carve out some time to go shopping. You won’t regret this; it’s always lovely to enter the school year with some fresh items that will get you excited about going to classes, the gym, or the bar! So if you haven’t already, I recommend freshening up your wardrobe before heading off to College in the fall!

4. Stock up on school supplies

Yes, of course, the not-so-fun part of going back to College! The actual academic aspect. We must prepare ourselves for the semester ahead. You don’t have to go crazy, but I recommend running into staples before heading off. Grab some fresh notebooks, folders, highlighters, pencils and pens, and any other school supplies you like. Somehow I always lose a good majority of pencils and highlighters throughout the year, so I want to go and get a fresh collection of them before heading off to school. You won’t regret buying the stuff you like because the school store will probably have the cheaper version and supplies that might not last as long. So, I recommend biting the bullet and going to staples it will take you 20 minutes to get everything you need for this semester. Buying school supplies will make you feel organized and like you’re setting yourself up well for the school year! I highly recommend going in and buying all your school supplies before heading off to school.

5. Go to your favorite restaurants/ cook your favorite meals

Like me, you’ll probably miss home-cooked meals and your favorite local restaurants. So if you’re also looking for a way to spend more time with your family and friends before going to school, plan some dinners or lunches. Make some reservations at your favorite restaurants and order your favorite meals. You’ll miss these meals and restaurants when you return to school. If you love certain meals that you make at home with your family and this can be a fun thing to do with your family members. By all the ingredients and cook at home. Yes, you might have a kitchen at College, but you probably won’t have the energy to make your favorite meals. Also, if your parents are good cooks, this is an opportunity to offer to cook with them while trying to get your favorite meals out of them. They will enjoy spending time with you before heading off to College. So I recommend getting your favorite meals in before returning to school and visiting your favorite restaurants.

6. Sleep

Sleep! I recommend catching up on all the rest before you head back to College. Even if you think you’re getting enough sleep a couple of days leading up to College, it’s probably not enough. I recommend going to bed as early as possible and sleeping as late as possible. Because when you go back to school, it’s going to go go go go go, and you’re not going to have time to go to bed early and sleep all the time. College schedules are demanding, balancing mental health, physical health parties, social life, and academics. So make sure you catch up on all the sleep you can before returning to school. I guarantee this is something you won’t regret. Savor all the rest you can get.

These are all of my suggestions and tips for anyone who’s going back to school in the fall. You will miss these things from home and summer and the best things you can do to prepare yourself for this semester ahead. So do the things that you’re going to miss. Feel free to add to this list. But you are trying to focus your last couple of days or weeks around family and friends and enjoying everyone’s company and the things you will miss most about being home. Good luck in your new semester!
