10 Things You Can Make with Chicken

You can make any meal out of chicken. Below is a list of 10 simple meals made with chicken.

1. Chicken Salad Sandwich

You only need a few items to create this simple masterpiece. Now this recipe is going to make about 4 sandwiches. You will need: friends to share with, 8 slices of bread, a sprinkle of salt and pepper, ½ a cup of mayonnaise, 1/3 cup of chopped onion, ½ a cup of chopped celery, and 1 and ½ cup of chopped cooked chicken. This next step is easy, trust me you can’t mess this up. In a large bowl mix all the ingredients (except the bread) together. Lastly spread the mixture on the bread and enjoy.

2. Chicken Spaghetti

1 pack of angel hair pasta, 10 ounce can of diced tomatoes, 10.75 ounce can of condensed cream of chicken soup, 8-ounce pack of processed cubed cheese, 2 cups of chopped chicken breast, a sprinkle of salt and pepper for taste. Prepare the pasta as listed on the box. Once pasta is cooked add the rest of the ingredients and cook on low for about 15 minutes and then eat up!

3. Chicken Pot Pie

Eating with others would be perfect for this meal. This recipe will make enough for 8 people who would like to enjoy 2 servings each. Let’s get started, you will need: 2 cups of potatoes peeled and diced, 1 cup of butter cut into cubes, 1 cup of sliced carrots, 1 cup of chopped onions 1 cup of flour, 1 teaspoon of dried thyme, 3 cups of chicken broth, 1 cup of whole milk, 4 cups of chopped chicken, 1 cup of peas and corn, 4 sheets of pie crust. Cook potatoes and carrots in water for 10 minutes and then set to the side. Heat the butter and cook the onion until it is tender then add in flour. Stir in broth and milk little by little. Cook it until it is thick and then add in peas, chicken, and the potato mixture we made earlier. With the pie crust unroll it into two 9-inch pie plates and place on top of the mixture. Make slits on the top. Then bake for about 40 minutes or until the top is golden.

4. Chicken Noodle Soup

This soup is perfect for any weather. Here is what we are going to need: About 30 minutes, 1 tablespoon of salted butter, ½ a cup of chopped onion, ½ cup of chopped celery ½ cup of sliced carrots, 4 cans of 14.5 ounce of chicken broth, 1- 14.5 ounce can of vegetable broth, ½ pound of chopped cooked chicken breast, ½ teaspoon of dried basil and oregano, and 1 and a ½ cup of egg noodles. In a large bowl melt the butter and then add in the celery and onion and cook for about 5 minutes. Add in the remaining ingredients and cook for about 20 minutes.

5. Chicken Enchiladas

this recipe will make 10 enchiladas. You may add, remove, or double any of these ingredients. I prefer to double up on the cheese. To get started make sure you have: 2 cans of diced tomatoes and cream of chicken soup, 1 can of cheddar cheese soup, ¼ cup of milk, 1 tablespoon of; ground cumin, chili powder, oregano and garlic powder, 3 cups of shredded chicken, ½ package of cream cheese, 10 flour tortillas and 3 cups of Mexican shredded cheese. I’m going to make this quick. Those first 8 ingredients? Mix them all up. In another bowl mix the chicken, cream cheese, and sauce. In your greased deep-dish pan layer it with some of the sauce. Then add about ¼ of the mixture into each tortilla and roll them up and place them in a row the pan. Repeat this until there is no more space in the pan. Bake the uncovered enchiladas for about 30 minutes. Then it’s ready!

6. White Chicken Chili

This is my favorite meal to eat in the Fall. It goes perfectly with cornbread. This list may seem like a lot of ingredients but it’s not I just listed everything I put in mine. If you don’t like something don’t add it. You will need: 1 tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil, 1 diced onion. 2 minces cloves of garlic, ½ teaspoon of oregano and ground cumin, 3 cooked chicken breasts with no skin cut into thirds, 15 ounces can of drained white beans, 1 cup and a ½ of frozen corn and ¼ cup of shredded cheese. Now that you got all that together, let the fun begin. In a large pot, over medium heat, combine all the ingredients and cook for 20 minutes and then serve.

7. Chicken Tacos

I don’t know about you but I am constantly on the go and barely have time to cook, let alone, eat. This recipe is one that I go to when I have about 15 minutes to spare. For this recipe, you will need only a few items and can share it with a few people. You will need 1 pound of premade and seasoned chicken, 10 warm flour tortillas, 1 cup of cheese, and ½ cup of sour cream (but this is optional). First, heat your chicken in the microwave for about 1 minute. Then add the chicken to 1 of the tortillas and add a spoonful of cheese and sour cream. Then dig in.

8. Salad with Chicken

In a medium bowl add about 2 cups of romaine lettuce, thinly sliced boiled egg, ¼ cup of chopped tomatoes, 1 tablespoon of thinly sliced almonds, and 1 cup of cooked cubed chicken. Once all these are in the bowl, toss it. Then find a fork and eat up.

9. Chicken Curry

Indian food is amazing. This chicken meal will leave your entire home smelling like curry chicken. Plus it goes great with some white rice. You will need more spices than any other chicken dish I mentioned. Grab 2 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil, 1 chopped onion, 2 skinless pounds of chicken breasts cut into 1-inch squares, 1 tablespoon of; minced ginger, paprika, ground turmeric, ground coriander, and ground cumin, 15 ounce can of crushed tomatoes, 1 cup of chicken broth, and ½ cup of heavy cream. In a large pot heat your onions an chicken for about 5 minutes. Once there is no pink and in garlic and ginger and stir until they are no longer visible. Add all the spices until they too are no longer visible. Stir in the heavy cream for a minute. Simmer the chicken for about 10 minutes or until it is tender. Then you are finished. You can pour this over some white rice or eat it alone. Either way, you are about to experience a delish chicken meal.

10. Chicken Quesadilla

This chicken meal to me is like a sandwich with a tortilla instead of sliced bread. For this recipe, you will need 10 flour tortillas, premade and season chicken, and shredded cheese. Place the skillet on medium. Once this temperature is reached place 2 tortillas in the skillet. Once they are warm flip them to their other side. On one tortilla add a handful chicken and the other add a tablespoon of shredded cheese. Once this side is golden you are done. Combine the tortillas and enjoy it.

When you make any of these chicken dishes let me know how it turns out. Comment below.
