Dorm rooms are your home away from home while at college, but they can seem impersonal at first glance. Many look the same and lack the feeling of home. With a few items, there are ways to spruce up your college dorm rooms and make them more fun.

1. Bean bag chair

Bean bag chairs are a great way to add some fun to your space. They come in a variety of styles, colors, and textures that fit your personality and space. If you have enough room, grab one for your roommate if you have one.

Lava lamps have come back in style these past few years. They even have glitter lava lamps now. They are fun and add a nice ambiance to a room. If you have a roommate, see if they are okay with having the lava lamp on at night.

Hanging up photos of loved ones is a great way to remember how much you are loved and how much support you have. It is also a great way to have a conversation with your roommate to share memories you have had and exchange travel stories. These are some great things to include in your college dorm rooms!

If you love listening to music, speakers are a must, just as long as you do not play them too loud. Ask your roommate what kind of music he or she likes and make a playlist for the room. There are even speakers that charge your device or are Bluetooth enabled, so you can listen to music while taking a shower without having your device in the bathroom.

Having a bulletin board is a great way to stay organized and personalize your space. It is an easy way to personalize your space and change things up as you wish. Bring multiple photos or decorations and switch them out every so often.

Mason jars have a variety of uses. They can be turned into awesome decorations. They can hold artificial flowers or electric candles. You can even put electric lights in them to light up your room. The sky is the limit!

This is so essential but is often overlooked. Having a trashcan in your room, if they are not provided, will make things easier for you and your roommate so you do not have to keep finding a place to discard your trash. They come in various sizes and styles.
