8 Things To Look Forward To As An Adult
You’re not in Kansas anymore. You might not even be in your parents house anymore. And truth is, they’re probably enjoying the peace now. If you watch adult comedy shows all they talk about is how their kids are off to college and they’re walking around naked or traveling or something. Well no worries, it’s your turn to get into that. Literally. Whether you’re a student or you’re working your way through life, you’re an adult and you know it’s cool being out and on your own. This isn’t going to be one of those miserable being an adult sucks because you have to pay bills lists. These are 8 things TO LOOK FORWARD TO as an adult.
Party At My Place
Best thing about adulting and getting to the point where you have your own place, is that you can throw parties as often as you friggen want. And any type too. Yoga party, Star Wars themed party, lingerie party, pizza partaay. If you’re renting don’t worry, they can’t kick you out for making noise. They’ll probably call the cops though so do turn down a bit…and then turn up again!
No Curfews
Stay out all night (responsibly of course). Spend the night at your S.O.’s place. Like all night, until the morning. Because no one’s really going to tell you you can’t or that you’re in trouble for being past curfew. You’re an adult now, you make your rules. This is a thing to look forward to this as an adult. Trust me.
Top Chef
Now that you have to worry about feeding yourself, you’ve probably come up with your own unique diet. Eating healthy and adulting the right way with delicious recipes and strategic meals. Or being a fast-foodie. Or having a fridge full of frozen pizza. It’s your choice. So you’ll deal with the consequences. You’re an adult now and this is definitely something to look forward to.
Game On
The best thing to look forward to as an adult who’s also a gamer, is that you probably get paid to play because you play so much. There’s no one to tell you that games are a waste of time or that you’re rotting your brain. And everyone in your circle is probably a gamer and you probably don’t allow people that don’t like video games into your place. Ok I’m going too far, but you get the point. Just another awesome thing about being an adult and having your own. No one can tell you not to play video games.
Sleepovers
When you’re an adult you can look forward to no longer squeezing a pillow against your stomach at night. If you don’t want to sleep alone then don’t. Of course you gotta find that special someone first to make this happen with, but at least you know that you can make it happen.
Home Décor
Having a particular style and being able to flaunt that in your home or space is important. When you’re an adult you can look forward to doing this. Decorating, remodeling, feng shui-ing, or just organizing in particular and having things the way you want them.
I Love You Texts
When you’re off on your own and you finally realize how much you actually do love your parents and family, you can just text em. You have that space between you now where it’s actually necessary. Don’t forget to tell your parents you love them every now and again. You can look forward to doing this as an adult. Also a thing to look forward to is thanking them for all they’ve done for ya. This is definitely one of our favorite things to look forward to as an adult.
Feel Free
A combination of all of these is the venture into a new life style. What you can really look forward to as an adult is the beginning of learning who you are as a person all over again, this time on your own. I bet you thought you knew who you were; but it’s not until you’re free to really make some mistakes and learn from them, make careful choices and be proud of them, or play it by ear and see what happens, that you are actually adulting. This is one of the best things to look forward to as an adult.
