24 Things To Get Your Mom For Mother’s Day This Year
Things to get your mom aren’t always easy around the holidays, especially a day dedicated to Mom, like Mother’s Day. With this article, we are going to show you 24 different gift ideas to get mom for Mother’s day!
1. Necklace
It may sound cliche, but buying a necklace for your mother is a classic. My mom is very picky about jewelry and if your mother is too, go with something staple, something simple that she’ll be sure to like. TJ Maxx has a great selection of jewelry for $40.00 or less, most of which are sterling silver!

2. Picture Frame
If you are unsure which gift to get for mom this year, go for the heartfelt option. Get a picture of the two of you and frame it, and that can be one of her gifts. It is simple, easy, and quick!
3. Candles And Lotions
We all need a little pampering, especially Mom’s. Candles are great for if you are in the bath, or just looking to relax. A good place to find both lotions and candles is TJ Maxx or Marshalls, Bath & Body Works, or any local mall store.
4. Key Chain
This may sound bland or average, but we all need a key chain. I was shopping at an outlet mall near me a few months ago, and I went into a Kate Spade outlet store, where I got a key chain for $10! I mean, yes, it was a Black Friday sale, but still! Everyone loves brands like Vera Bradley and Kate Spade. Well, maybe just my mom.

5. Rainboots
Rainboots are essential for Spring, and just think of when mother’s day is, in May, it rains ALOT. Probably more rain in April and May than any other time of year. I would say go to your local mall and see what is there for a selection, you never know!
6. Plants
Plants are essential for brightening up any home, especially in the warmer months like May. You can get a fake plant like an orchid that will stick around for decoration, or get mom some tulips or roses. It is a nice gesture and surely fitting!

7. Hair Ties
Let’s face it, everyone loses hair ties. Especially me. Scrunchies are back, but for moms, I would get a more basic style hair tie. Go to Ulta and grab a pack of them, or even go to Target for the same selection. You know your mom’s style! Besides, this is something you know she’ll use.
8. Wall Art
Everyone likes to spice up their decor, but not everyone has the time. Getting a piece of wall art won’t cost you an arm and a leg, but it will be a nice gesture and mom will surely appreciate it.
9. Nail Polish
This may seem like an overdone tradition whenever it is a birthday or Mother’s day, but certain classic gifts just never fade. Sometimes you can find packs of nail polish at TJ Maxx or Marshall’s, for relatively inexpensive.
10. Scarf
One of the best ways to accessorize is to wear a scarf. You can find these just about anywhere, and depending on your moms’ style, she will love it.
11. Slippers
Slippers are a great gift for mom. I personally have had my ugg slippers since 7th grade, and I have no idea how, but they have held up. I was in 7th grade in 2009, so to think that the slippers are still in good shape and I wear them around my house every day is insane. It is a good purchase and a great gift!Â

12. Handbag
Seriously, women can never have too many handbags. Whether its a tote or a crossbody, your local outlet mall will take care of everything. Or of course, if you are an online shopper, that works too. Mom will be excited!
13. Bracelet
A bracelet is simple but elegant, and mom will surely get a lot of use out of it. Things to get your mom aren’t always so obvious, sometimes what they secretly want is actually so simple. You could go all out and get her something from Tiffany’s, or feel around her style and go from there.
14. Blanket
Blankets are soft and cozy no matter what the season. Get mom a warm blanket to throw on her bed for decoration, or to snuggle up under while watching a movie.
15. Bathrobe
Bathrobes are essential while getting ready, hanging out, or even to sleep in. I have gotten a couple from Victoria’s Secret, and I love them. That store is my go-to for any type of lingerie. After all, women love clothes!
16. Gardening Tools
Maybe this is just my mother, but spring is a great time to garden, and my mom loves it. It can’t hurt to buy her pots and other tools or even plants to plant outside. It’s a fun way to be outside and spend some time together, too.
17. Hair Products
Back to the basics: everyone loves hair products, not just moms. Sometimes sticking with these types of gifts can be helpful because if she doesn’t like them, she can, of course, take them back. But a little dry shampoo or deep conditioner for her hair won’t hurt!
18. Lip Balm
Of course, this wouldn’t be mom’s only gift, but a gift set of 3 lip balms couldn’t hurt. We always moisturize our lips, and if she is anything like me, she loses them. I lose my chapsticks so often I probably spend a fortune each year just in chapsticks. Hopefully, she can put one in her car, and one by her nightstand! This way she will have plenty.
19. Mug
Whether your mom drinks coffee, tea, or any kind of beverage in the morning, a personalized mug will for sure make her happy. This can be found online or at your local mall. You could get one with her initial on it, or something else thoughtful.
20. Flip Flops
Are we forgetting its May? Flip Flops are a great mother’s day gift, and you don’t have to travel far to get them. Places like the Gap, Old Navy, TJ Maxx, and other similar stores have tons of variety for an inexpensive price.
21. Perfume
Things to get mom can range from a number of different gifts, but perfume is still a classic. Sweet smelling and everlasting make for the perfect gift.
22. Phone Case
I love phone cases, and its fun to buy them for someone else. Depending on what phone mom has, you may have to order them online, or TJ Maxx carries most older cell phone cases.
23. Makeup Bag
If your mom is a huge makeup fan, travels a lot, or just needs something to put miscellaneous items in, a makeup bag is one way to go. You can stuff it with other mini gifts like chapstick or hair ties, and one thing is for sure, makeup bags are super cute!
24. Tumbler
This may just be a portable coffee mug after all, but hey, it makes for a great mother’s day gift. You can find these just about anywhere, and for a little more personalization, give her one with her initial on it.
