10 Things To Do On Valentine’s Day When You’re Single
If you’re single this Valentine’s day, don’t sweat it. There are tons of people in the same boat as you, all looking for ways to spend a holiday that they feel isn’t meant for them. Make Valentine’s day for single people and check out 10 things to do on Valentine’s Day when you’re single!
1. Grab your single girlfriends and go out to a nice dinner.
Just because you don’t have a significant other doesn’t mean you don’t deserve a nice dinner! Get all glammed up and go out for a nice dinner with some girlfriends for a girl’s night out. Take pics, put on a cute dress, and get yourselves a nice meal. Head out for drinks after and maybe you’ll meet someone for next Valentine’s day!
2. TREAT YO SELF.
Take this day to celebrate the relationship you have with yourself. There are tons of things to do on Valentine’s day to treat yourself: use that Lush bath bomb you’ve been saving, order in your favorite food, cuddle up into bed in your favorite pajamas and binge watch Netflix. Love yourself, and do things that are going to make you smile.
3. Take the night shift at work.
Take one for the team and take a shift at work to let your co-workers go out with their sig others. Not only will you be making money, but you can keep yourself busy and practically forget about the holiday. Maybe you’ll even win a few brownie points with your boss. It’s a win-win situation.
4. Treat it like any other day.
The sun is going to rise and it is going to set like it did the day before and the day before that. There is no reason to beat yourself up over being alone on Valentine’s day because it is like every other day of the year, you just might see a few more couples wandering around. There are plenty of things to do on valentine’s day, and going about your day like normal is one of them. Valentine’s day will come and go like it never happened.
5. Go to the gym.
Summer is only 4 months away, start on that bikini body! A lot of people feel bad about themselves on Valentine’s day, what a better way to make yourself feel better than a good gym sesh? Put on your cutest workout clothes and hit the gym, or maybe find a Valentine’s day promo at a studio and take a new class!
6. Take advantage of the couple’s deals around town with your best friend.
We all know Valentine’s day is marketed heavily to couples, and couples only. Most promotions for events around town on Valentine’s day are for couples only, so why not take your best friend as your +1? It’s an excuse to get some extra face time with your bestie and you’ll save tons of money.
7. Revamp your online dating game.
Open up Tinder and start swiping! Upload some new photos, change your bio, download more dating apps… there’s gotta be other guys out there looking for love this Valentine’s day. You never know who you’re gonna swipe on, maybe you’ll run into that cute guy in your class!
8. Watch movies.
Movie nights are sacred. Make this one over the top with popcorn, your coziest sweats, double stuff Oreos, and your best pals. Horror movies are always a great go-to if you’re avoiding romance, but some of my favorite movies to watch on Valentine’s day are My Bloody Valentine’s Day, Kill Bill, Bridesmaids, John Tucker Must Die, and of course anything with your favorite heartthrob.
9. Change your look.
Have you been dying to make a change to your hair? Looking to rearrange/reorganize your room? Change your look completely? Take the day to finally do these things. Make changes, and see what they bring to you!
10. Throw a party for your all your single friends.
Galentine’s day is one of the most popular things to do on Valentine’s day. Some girls even choose hanging out with their girlfriends on Valentine’s day over their sig others because we all know how nice it is to have a fun-filled night in with your favorite girls. Turn on a movie, play board games, tell stories, and show yourself that the only valentine’s you need are your friends.
With or without a significant other, Valentine’s day is a holiday for everyone. There are so many things to do on Valentine’s day when you’re single, don’t limit yourself because you don’t have arm candy! Get out there, have fun, and love yourself!
