Philadelphia’s beauty and history make it a great city to walk around in. There are a lot of things to do outside, but sometimes, the weather does not always cooperate. Rain can come up at any time. 1. Escape an escape room at the Franklin Institute
Escape rooms have been all the rage the past few years. Spending the day at the Franklin Institute is fun, but escaping an escape room can add a sense of accomplishment to your fun day. There are two rooms to choose from: Island Escape and Intergalactic Escape.
2. Dave and Buster’s
While this arcade is a chain, it is still a fun way to spend a rainy day while in Philly. It is located on Christopher Columbus Boulevard. The arcade is known for its food and games and allows guests to earn a variety of prizes based on tickets they get when playing games.
3. Spend the day at Reading Terminal Market
Reading Terminal Market is an indoor farmer’s market located right near Jefferson Station. It features a wide variety of restaurants and vendors, from a diner and ice cream stands to a bookstore and kitchen essentials stand. It has something for every taste and need.
4. Play a round of indoor mini golf
Thanks to Keystone Mini Golf and Arcade, you can get your mini golf fix, even when it is raining. The course, located on Cecil B Moore Avenue, contains nine 50’s-themed holes. There is also an arcade, so the fun does not have to stop after your game is over.
5. Get your rock (climbing) on
Go Vertical is Philly’s only rock climbing gym and is the largest of its kind on the East Coast. There are over 250 routes with new routes being added regularly, so there is something for rock climbers of all ages to master.

8. Catch a glimpse of the best city views
Even in the rain, Philadelphia is a stunning and scenic city. One Liberty Observation Deck offers a 360-degree look at various views of the City of Brotherly Love. There are also shops below the deck, so you can spend a whole day shopping and taking in some views.
9. Rid your blues with a movie
Nothing rids the rainy day blues quite like a day at the movies. Luckily for those in Philadelphia, there are a number of movie theaters across town to see the latest family movie or a comedy. Escaping the reality of the rain can make anybody happy.
10. Learn something new at a museum
Philadelphia has a wide variety of museums on subjects like art, culture, science, and history. Many museums have an inspiring message to them and most are interactive, adding a personal touch to the experience and allowing visitors to get connected to the subject.
