Ah, Los Angeles: the place of impeccable weather all year long, home to a multitude of celebrities, an endless source of delectable food options, and so much more. Here are the top ten things to do in Los Angeles before you leave!
Whether it’s summer, winter, fall, or spring-any day of the year can turn into a beach day in Los Angeles. Pack a towel, some snacks, and lay under the sun while reading your favorite book. Santa Monica beach is a highly popular beach, and you can stop by the pier to do anything from going on rides, to eating shrimp and lobster for dinner at a restaurant.
If you happen to be visiting Los Angeles during baseball season, definitely try to go to a Dodger game. Tickets sell for as low as $7 per person. You don’t have to be a fan of baseball to enjoy an overly sized dodger dog and plate of garlic fries.
If you are dying to see a celebrity, The Grove is the place you will most likely see one out and about. And if for some crazy reason you don’t see a famous person, you can still find contentment while shopping your heart out. You could easily leave the Grove with a new Apple product, a couch from Pottery Barn, a delicate bracelet from Swarovski, and a new car from Tesla. I’ve warned you ahead of time.
Located in Downtown Los Angeles, Olvera Street is truly a one of a kind place to eat authentic Mexican food. And after filling up on handmade tortillas, carnitas, rice, and beans, you can then walk around and take a peek at the countless shopping stands throughout the historic street. You’ll find colorful purses, handmade knick-knacks, and beautiful beaded jewelry.
Warning: the Griffith Observatory is always a highly populated place surrounded by tourists. On the bright side however, it is one of the best places to take an epic picture of the entire city of Los Angeles for your Instagram. You’ll even get a great close up look at the Hollywood Sign, and you can take a short hike along the hills.
Bookworms rejoice! The Last Bookstore is located right in the heart of downtown, and contains a treasure of books and record specialties. Believe it or not, there is even a stack of books designed to represent an ocean wave. Don’t believe me? Check it out for yourself. And soon, because it probably won’t be there forever.
Chocolate Chip Cookies, Chocolate Chocolate Chip Mint Chip ice cream sandwiches, cookie sundaes, fudge brownies, and premium ice cream flavors. Are you drooling yet? The desserts at Diddy Riese are not only delicious, but also extremely affordable. The line will be long, but I promise it’s worth the wait for these desserts!
L.A. Live is an extremely lively place, specifically during the nighttime. You can go bowling, visit the Grammy Museum, see a movie in 4D-and that is just a fraction of the things you can do at L.A Live. The Staples Center is located here, a venue where basketball games, hockey games, concerts, etc. are held. It’s quite fancy here, so put on your stylish clothing and relish in the exciting nightlife.
Why do people move to L.A? To become famous of course! Well maybe not everyone, but many people do. Los Angeles is the place where many of your favorite t.v. shows are probably filmed. On this tour you’ll see backlots and sound stages, a Harry Potter exhibit, and even the set of Central Perk Café-the infamous café from the television show Friends.
If your budget allows, Disneyland is truly one of the most magical places on earth. Spend your day with Mickey and Minnie, go on as many rides as possible, eat Churros and pineapple ice cream, and your happiness shall be fulfilled for the day.
