10 Things To Do In Fall Around FSU

Fall is finally upon us, Noles. For many of us that means s’mores, campfires, flannels and changing leaves. If this is your first year in Tally, or you’re just looking for something to get into during this time of year, keep reading to find out 10 things to do in fall around FSU!

1. The Pumpkin Patch

The Tallahassee Heights United Methodist Church graciously opens its lawn to pumpkin-patch-goers each Fall. Pumpkins all shapes and sizes cover the lawn in bright orange. There are photo areas set up to take cute insta-worthy pictures with your girlfriends, or you can buy and take one home with you to carve into a spooky jack-o-lantern. Your choice! This is one of my favorite things to do in fall around FSU.

2. Denim & Diamonds Zoobilee

This year, the Tallahassee Museum is celebrating their 60th anniversary which calls for a grand celebration. An all inclusive ticket to the event includes an open bar, live music and tons of food from our favorite local restaurants. You’ll find Ghengis Grill, Wahoo Seafood Grill, Myra Jean’s and The Egg Cafe & Eatery all present, just to name a few! You’ll also get the chance to support a few local musicians.

3. The North Florida Fair

This may or may not be my absolute favorite part of fall. Funnel cakes, cotton candy, friends, the ferris wheel and/or that boy you’re crushing on?! *Inserts heart eyes emoji here.* Not to mention you can get some high quality candids for the gram. It’s a time I wouldn’t miss for anything. Studying can wait.

4. The Tuesday Market

The Tuesday Market also known as the Frenchtown Farmers Market, is the perfect place to go to stock up on goods for the entire week. The best part is you’ll find the freshest and healthiest options such as homemade granola, farm-grown eggs and fresh jams and jellies. Clean eating makes you feel good and look good. I wouldn’t want to miss shopping here this fall!

5. Dogsgiving On Landis

If this isn’t the cutest thing you’ve ever heard, I’m not sure what is. On Florida State’s very own Landis Green, you can come out with your puppy, socialize and enjoy free food of course! It’s the perfect way to lead into Thanksgiving Break, feeling happy and thankful for our pups. This event is an unique one of those things to do in fall around FSU but quite memorable.

6. Go To An FSU Football Game

This ones kind of a no brainer, but it’s definitely one of the best parts of fall semester. Although we may not be undefeated this year, still nothing beats sitting in Doak Campbell Stadium every other Friday listening to our traditional War Chant and the crowd going wild. Music to my ears.

7. Downtown Get Down

This is the best Friday night block party you can attend around Florida State. The Friday before every home game, this is the official tailgate event located in Collegetown! Thousands of Nole fans attend these exciting Friday night events with vendors and special appearances from people such as country music stars Jon Langston and Chris Lane.

8. Festival Of Trees

An annual event located at Goodwood Museum and Gardens, The Festival of Trees is a place you can bid on incredible Christmas trees and handcrafted wreaths to decorate for the holidays. It’s never too early to get in the Christmas spirit, am I right?

9. Glow Night Flight

With glow sticks, canopy crossings, zip lines and tree-top challenges, this is a marvelous fall event you can do with a number of friends. On the New Moon, the tree tops will also be lit in colors of LED lights. Another thrilling activity put on by the Tallahassee Museum!

10. Munson Hills Biking

Held by Florida State’s Outdoor Pursuits Program, this event at FSU’s Campus Rec will get your heart racing as you take on one of the best biking trails in Tallahassee. With the temperature dropping and the smell of the fresh, crisp air, this is a perfect way to get in touch with your nature side and enjoy the fall season.

If you couldn’t think of anything refreshing to do this season, maybe you’ll have a few extra ideas of what to do instead of binge watching Stranger Things on Netflix (or at least when you’re done with it). I’d hate to miss out on this enchanting time of year. Get out and discover what FSU has to offer you this fall!
