If you try to hide a drink under your jacket, you will either be told to put your drink on the table next to the security desks or you will be sarcastically asked to invest in a thermos. If you try to hide it in your bag, there’s a very strong chance there will be a spill.

Your sociology class might be in the 7th east 12th street SPS building and your next class might be in the 194 Mercer street building. Those things cost $20 to replace and you need them for every possible thing at NYU. You can’t even print without them. So, you always keep them at arms length. But, one day it just slips out and you have to drop everything to go and get a new one because there is not much you can do without them.

It’s amazing how big NYU is, but sometimes its hard to see the same people twice. People drop classes or the lecture room is so big you just can’t find them again or sometimes they just don’t remember you. Every few months you have to go back and delete all those numbers of people you will never see again.

The one time you are late, the printer is out of paper

It always seems to happen. You finish your essay at 3 in the morning and set a reminder to print it on your way to class that starts at 8 am. Of course you wake up late. I mean, you did sleep at 3. You rush out of your dorm and to the printers. But, when you try to print, you see that that the printer is out of paper. Your choices are to run to another dorm or Bobst, but either way, you are late to class.
