10 Things Every Daughter Wants Her Mom To Know

One of the most important people in a daughter's life is her mom, even while away at college. Here are ten things every daughter wants her mom to know.

Being away at college can be very exciting. The idea of being independent 24/7 is definitely something to look forward to, however it’s hard to not get homesick every once in a while. As the weeks go by and the semesters get harder, the time spent away from our families makes us realize to never take them for granted. One of the most important people in a daughter’s life is her mom. While I don’t get to see my mom everyday, here are ten things that I, and any daughter, want our moms to know…

1. I miss you.

I know we may talk on the phone often, but nothing beats seeing you every day when I’m home. I can’t wait to come home soon and spend time with you.

2. You’re the best person to gossip with.

I know I can always count on you to listen to all my drama. I don’t know how I would have gotten through those high school years without you dishing on everyone else with me. I’m almost positive you know as much about everyone else’s life as you do about my own.

3. Thank you for pushing me to be the best.

I’ll never forget coming home with a 95 on my exam from school and you asking me “Why not a 100?”. Although I was probably annoyed at the time, you always pushed me to work my hardest. Because of you, I have learned the importance of a good education.

4. Uber’s got nothing on your taxi service.

Thank you for setting your alarm at 1 am to pick me up from late nights out. If it weren’t for you, my friends and I would have been walking home in the middle of the night. I owe you big time for being my personal taxi driver.

5. You accept my friends as family.

It makes me so happy that you are able to treat every single one of my friends as if they were your own child. We all know that apparently our house is “the place to be”, so thank you for taking care of all of my friends. Half of the time I think they come over to hang out with you instead of me.

6. Mom? Best Friend? Same thing.

You have always been there for me when I had no one else to turn to. You have helped me through many ups and downs, and have made me laugh and smile along the way. Thanks for acting like my partner in crime at times, and for being my first and forever best friend.

7. The best thing I can do is make you proud.

No matter what I do, I always strive to make you proud. Although I’m sure I have given you a fair share of disappointments, I hope that I have given you more satisfactions. I know I am not perfect, but there is nothing more I want than for you to be a proud mom.

8. You’re a cool mom.

Thanks for letting me stay out late, go to tons of concerts, have endless amounts of sleepovers, and allowing me to experience some of the best years of my life. You’re the coolest mom I know and there is no one out there like you.

9. I will be okay because of you.

Whether near or far, east or west, I know what I need to be successful in the world. You have taught me how to be an exceptional human being, and to stick up for myself when need be. Wherever life takes me in the end, I will be okay, and that is all because of you.

10. I love you.

I probably don’t say it enough, but you should know that I love you. I’m so grateful that I get to be your daughter, and so happy that I get to call someone like you my mom.
