15 Things College Girls Are Secretly Thankful For
There are tons of things to love about the fall: color-changing leaves, scarfs, boots, bonfires, and of course, Thanksgiving! As college students, there’s so much to be thankful for. Here’s 15 things all college girls are thankful for even if they don’t openly admit it.
1. College Boys… Actually, College Men
This one probably isn’t a shocker. Skinny, awkward, shy high school boys just don’t cut it. Tall, muscular men at college are so much better to look at. Oh, and college men who know how to dress well is even better. Sometimes a college girl just needs to sit outside and watch all the hot guys walk by. Thank you God for puberty.
2. Friends From Different States
College is the easiest place to meet people from all over. The best part about having friends from different states is it gives you the opportunity to travel to new places to visit your friends.
3. Going Home to Homemade Food
The main thing all girls miss when they are at college is the homemade food. And going home for Thanksgiving always means AMAZING food, and lots of it!
4. Sharing Clothes
It’s never been easier to share clothes with anyone until college. Women can never have enough clothes no matter how much they have.
5. Roommates
At times sharing a room can suck, but having a roommate is also amazing. You always have someone to talk to about anything and everything with, and you never feel lonely. And if you’re lucky, you might even have a roommate that’s your best friend. Having a roommate gets a bad rep, but honestly, all girls are at least somewhat thankful for their roommate.
6. Freedom!
Being able to do whatever you want whenever you want gets taken for granted a lot. All girls are thankful they are able to try new things and gain new experiences.
7. Gyms On Campus
Okay, so this one is more like a love/hate relationship. Women are thankful there are gyms to workout at to keep in shape and not gain the freshman 15; however, if there weren’t any gyms on campus, maybe that would be an excuse not to work out…
8. Credit Cards
Credit cards are lifesavers when you see that new shirt at the mall you just have to have, but don’t have the cash for. Sometimes it’s hard to say no when you find something you just REALLY NEED.
9. Netflix
Netflix is the go-to when you feel lazy and don’t feel like leaving your room. Girls are thankful to have access to shows like Gossip Girls, Pretty Little Liars and Grey’s Anatomy right at their fingertips at anytime. Oh, and no commercials is pretty great too.
10. iPhones
Could you imagine going to college and not having a group chat to talk to your friends at all hours of the day? Having access to everything you need right in your hands is amazing.
11. Student Discounts
I mean, how could girls not love an extra 15 percent off their purchase at J.Crew? College girls are great at finding the hidden deals, and trust me, they can be hidden. It never hurts to ask a store if they have a discount, because oftentimes they have it and just don’t tell people.
12. Libraries
Sometimes getting anything done or finding some peace and quiet can be impossible. Well, that’s what libraries are for, and college girls everywhere are definitely thankful for the occasional escape from their roommate.
13. FaceTime
FaceTime is the key to all relationships now. If your boyfriend or best friend doesn’t go to the same college as you, then you can probably admit that FaceTime is the next best thing. FaceTime is also great for keeping in touch with home friends and family. Sometimes it’s nice to even FaceTime your dogs. …Don’t act like you haven’t done it.
14. Hair Ties
Sometimes you wake up late and don’t have time to do your hair; sometimes it’s skip day for shampooing; sometimes you just don’t know what went wrong. Thank God for hair ties, saving one rat’s nest at a time.
15. Planners
It can be hard to keep track of everything in college with the whirlwind of a life a college girl lives. We’re all secretly thankful for planners to write down everything they need to do so we don’t forget anything… or forget as often.
