There is a wide variety of Halloween movies to watch this year, there are classic horror movies like The Amityville Horror or A Nightmare on Elm Street that so many people watch every year come fall. While these movies are great there are some people that want to get into the Halloween spirit without being scared to go to sleep at night. If you’re one of those people then some of these movies may be perfect for getting you into the Halloween spirit.
1. The Nightmare Before Christmas
The Nightmare Before Christmas is a classic Halloween movie. Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, is sick of the same old thing every year and wishes to find something new and different. Jack accidentally stumbles into Christmas Town and decides to kidnap Santa Claus so he can take over Christmas. The songs in this movie are extremely catchy, “This is Halloween” and “What’s This” will definitely get stuck in your head and be the perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit.
2. Coraline
Coralina is honestly a little creepy for a kids movie. The main character, Coraline, discovers a creepy alternate world called the Other World. Not getting the attention from her parents in the real world, she finds herself getting the attention she is lacking from her Other Mother and Other Father. She soon discovers the dark side of this new world and desperately tries to get back to the real world with her real parents.
3. The Haunted Mansion
Based on a theme park ride, The Haunted Mansion follows the Evers family as they stay in an old haunted mansion. Filled with ghosts, zombies, and other creepy creatures this movie is a ride in itself. Follow the family as they try to figure out the mysteries held in the mansion while also trying to make it out in one piece.
4 .Monster House
Monster House is a movie a lot of people may have watched as a kid. Surprisingly creepy towards the end and probably should’ve had a higher rating. This movie follows three kids as they discover the creepy house in their neighborhood is hiding some pretty dark, and weird, secrets. An interesting movie with some creepy moments, but nothing that will keep you up at night.
5. Corpse Bride
Corpse Bride is similar to The Nightmare Before Christmas in style but has a very different story. This witty and mysterious tale is captivating until the very end.
