Montreal is arguably at its best in the summer. If you’re lucky enough to visit this gorgeous city this summer, here’s a list of things that are an absolute must to do while you’re there.

1. Have lunch on a terrasse

What is Montreal known for? It’s amazing food, among other things. The #1 thing you have to do in this city is go to one of the many renowned terrasses in the Old Port. Delicious food, amazing sangria, and a beautiful view of the city. What more could you ask for?

3. Have a picnic on Mount Royal

Mount Royal is definitely a must-visit location if you ever get the chance to come to Montreal. It is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious and fun picnic with friends while being able to take in the beauty of the park. In the prime of the summer, Mount Royal is the ideal location to spend a relaxing afternoon with friends, or even alone, just appreciating one of the many gems of the city. Bonus: You can even get a workout in if you walk to the top of the mountain!

4. Enjoy every jam-packed minute of Grand Prix Weekend

Grand Prix weekend is one of the biggest weekends of the year in Montreal. This summer, it’s happening the weekend of June 7th, 8th and 9th. Go see some of the races, catch one of the many celebrities who come to town every year for the event, or just head to St-Laurent or Crescent street to catch the after-parties. There’s also always a lot of cool art and exhibits around the city at this time to draw in the crowds. Whatever you do, it’ll be a weekend to remember.

5. Take a visit to the Village

Montreal is one of the most diverse cities in Canada, and that’s definitely something to be proud of. The village is decorated with beautiful pink lights during the summer that make for a perfect street to stroll down in the summer, and maybe stop into a bar for some drinks. Great for a photo-op, and even better for the experience.
