The Ultimate Ranking Of Freshman Dorms at Kutztown University
If you’re a student whose about to attend Kutztown University in Pennsylvania, then this is everything you need to know about the freshman dorms at Kutztown University from worst to best!
5. Johnson/Bonner Hall
Johnson and Bonner hall are two of the oldest dorms that have not gone through renovation. The rooms are the worst rooms that you could have. The desks and wardrobes are bolted to the wall, so you can not move them. You can only move your bed, so you do not have many options to arrange the furniture. Right when you walk into the halls, it smells and looks like you are walking into a wood paneling home from the 1950’s. Johnson is also know for their fire alarm going off in the middle of the night. Johnson and Bonner are located on the right side of the DMZ down by South Dining Hall.
4. Beck
Beck hall was renovated in 2010, so it is not the oldest, but it is not the newest. Beck hall would be consider the average dorm room. All of the furniture is moveable, so you can move the beds, desks, wardrobes, and dressers. Once you arrange the furniture, you do not have much room. Beck is located on the left side of the DMZ, and is the one of the closer halls to the academic side of campus.
3. Tri-County
Tri-County consist of Berks, Lehigh, and Schuylkill hall. These were renovated between 2013 and 2015. these halls are located on the right side of the DMZ, and they form a triangle. In the center of the halls, there is an open area where people will skate, play soccer, etc. Also all 3 of these halls have seating areas outside, in front of their hall. The inside of the halls are basically the same as Beck.
2. Rothermel
Rothermel is currently under renovation, so come Fall 2018, everything will be new. Rothermel is right on Main Street, so that means you have a shorter walk to class. Now since it is under construction, we do not know what it will exactly be like, but I assume it will be similar to Deatrick, which was renovated this past year.
1. Deatrick
Deatrick hall is one of the biggest halls for freshman. It was just renovated this past year. It is located on the left side of the DMZ and is close to South Dining Hall. Deatrick hall has newer furniture, and one bonus is that instead of having a tall dresser, you get 2 short dressers that can be put underneath your bed to save space. When you are in a small room with someone else, you want to do anything you can to save space.
