The Top U.S. Summer Travel Destinations To Book Right Now

Book these U.S. summer travel destinations right now for perfect Instagram moments that won’t break the bank! Whether you’re looking for a trip with friends or a solo adventure, put these spots at the top of your list.

1. Grand Canyon

Located in Arizona, the Grand Canyon is actually one of the seven wonders of the world! Not only do you get bragging rights (seriously, how cool does it sound to say you went to one of the seven wonders of the world this summer?) but it is the epitome of Instagram goals.

2. Yellowstone National Park

Another Instagram worthy summer travel destination is Yellowstone National Park. Located between Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho, this breathtaking park contains Yellowstone Lake, Grand Prismatic Spring, and Old Faithful. You’ll want to have your camera ready for all of those sites. unless you prefer to enjoy the moment. Either way, Yellowstone is for you!

3. Glacier National Park

Without a doubt, the state of Montana is home to one of the most iconic parks in the United States. Glacier National Park boasts picturesque locations varying from glaciers to lakes to jaw-dropping nature paths. You’ve probably seen Lake McDonald and the Grinnell Glacier on postcards before! This is your chance to get your own postcard-worthy moment.

4. Seattle, Washington

Hate the heat? Want a cooler summer? Rainy Seattle, Washington is the place for you! Visit the Space Needle, see The Gum Wall, or check out the iconic Pike Place Fish Market. The nightlife and leftover remnants of the grunge scene are sure to make this a summer trip to remember.

5. Sedona, Arizona

If you want the desert scenery of the Grand Canyon but hiking isn’t quite your thing, Sedona, Arizona might be the perfect spot for you. Most well known for its Vortex meditation sites and spiritual healing, it’s one of the most beautiful places for you to put self-care first and heal surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

6. Outer Banks

The Outer Banks is my all-time favorite summer vacation spot. An island group off the coast of North Carolina, the waters of the Outer Banks might not be as clear as in Hawaii, but the beaches are breathtaking. One of the most beautiful sites to see in the Outer Banks is the Jockey’s Ridge sand dune. You’ll feel like you’re in a desert, but you won’t be as hot!

7. Boston, Massachusetts

Home to The Freedom Trail and The Commons, Boston, Massachusetts is rich with U.S. history. If you’re a big sports fan, you’re not going to want to miss out on Fenway Park or TD Garden. And while you’re at it, hop on over to Salem, Massachusetts to experience the rich past of the Salem Witch Trials.

8. Denver, Colorado

Denver, Colorado is one of the best summer travel destinations for this year. Besides taking a tour around the city, be sure to visit Union Station and The Dairy Block! Don’t forget to hop over to the Red Rocks Park & Amphitheater for a show and enjoy all the nature Colorado is known for!

9. Ocean City, New Jersey

Although never featured on Jersey Shore, Ocean City is a gem of the New Jersey beach scene. With expansive beaches and a boardwalk full of everything from amusement rides to fancy restaurants, you can’t go wrong with a trip to Ocean City.

10. Palm Springs, California

Why go to Los Angeles when you could have your own private retreat in Palm Springs? A famous getaway for authors and screenwriters, Palm Springs is known for its calm, quiet air. Half an hour away in Indio, California is Coachella. Go to see the once-a-year music festival to liven things up or, come to Palm Springs later on in the summer and wind down with some mountains and palm trees.

11. Orlando, Florida

What’s in Orlando besides sun, palm trees, and good times? Disney World, of course! Whoever said adults can’t go to Disney World didn’t know what they were talking about. Disney World is the best place to let your inner child run wild! Get an Instagram picture with your favorite characters, ride all the rides, and please please go to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. If you’re at all a Star Wars fan, you’re in for the experience of your life.

12. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Visit the city of brotherly love! As one of America’s oldest cities, Philadelphia is rich in history. Between trips to the Liberty Bell and Betsy Ross’ house, you can stop at any number of Philadelphia’s amazing restaurants, bars, or stores. In the summer, Philadelphia also hosts a Chinese Lantern Festival that you definitely don’t want to miss. While you’re there, make sure to stop by Spruce Street Harbor Park.

13. Nashville, Tennesse

Love music? Nashville just might be the summer travel destination for you. If you fly into Nashville, you’ll be greeted by the sound of rich, live music right away. You can count on these tunes following you throughout your trip. Go to Nashville and discover your new favorite artist while hanging around all the coolest bars with your friends.

14. San Fransisco, California

There are endless options when it comes to San Fransisco, California. If nature is your thing, make sure to check out the nearby Redwoods. Fascinated by crime? Go see Alcatraz! Definitely don’t forget to take your picture with the Golden Gate Bridge. But if you’re just looking for a chill city to explore, look no further. San Fransisco’s shops, food, and bars are top-notch and won’t leave you disappointed.

15. New Orleans, Louisiana

Party people, this one is for you. The party scene in New Orleans is something to beat, being a popular destination if your main goal is to go to as many cool bars as possible. New Orleans is also home to some astonishing, historically rich sites. Party on Bourbon Street or visit the French Quarter. Maybe even check out the Bayou! You’ll be glad you did.

What do you think? If you could go to any of these top U.S. summer travel destinations, which would you book? Personally, I think I’d be going to Orlando for Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. Although the beauty of the Grand Canyon is tempting too. Honestly, I’d love to spend my summer at any of these spots!
