The Perfect Grilled Cheese Recipes For A Summer Lunch
Do you not have much in your fridge right now? Sometimes all I have is bread and cheese and I’m mad I don’t have other cold cuts. Why not just make a grilled cheese, right? What if you don’t want that cause you don’t make it that good. I mean do all you do is just heat up the bread and cheese together and call it a day. If so, your doing it wrong and its time to start having some great grilled cheese sandwiches that will no longer just be a last resort. Down below is a list of five ways to spice up your grilled cheese for a great summer lunch.
1. Just Add Butter
My grandma taught me this trick when I was little and I’ve never made a grilled cheese without it. You just put a little bit of butter on both insides of the bread and spread it evenly, then add cheese and cook it on a pan for better results. It will give the cheese such a yummy taste and have it a little bit gooier as you can see down below. I actually don’t like toasting it I think it comes out not the best and normally too burned.
2. Switch up your cheese’s
Sometimes it can feel so bland with just plain old American cheese so why not spice it up. If you can run to the store get some more cheese’s. Try provolone on it too or even mozzarella. If you feel weird about a bunch of different cheese’s then just try one at a time to see which taste you prefer. I think muenster cheese is so good on grilled cheese and I personally haven’t tried a cheese better to have with it.
3. Avocado and bacon anyone?
This is one of those grilled cheese recipes you obviously can switch up if you’d like. If you don’t like it then just move to the next one, am I right? I personally think this sounds amazing I love both of these and think they taste great on almost everything. The one tip I’d say is to probably cook the bacon before and then just heat it up inside the grilled cheese and then try your best to open to place the avocado in. Not everyone is a fan of warm avocado I think it tastes pretty good.
4. Why not add a sauce?!
This may sound odd but don’t hate it till you try it. I personally am a fan of dipping things so I’ve had my own experiences with this. I used to always go to apple bees when I was little and get a grilled cheese with fries so I use to always get ketchup on my grilled cheese and it taste pretty good together. I’m also a fan of hot sauce thou so I’m quicker to dip my grilled cheese into that before I use some ketchup.
5. Try a new kind of bread
Sometimes we’re not a fan of our grilled cheese cause we don’t like the bread. I personally think it tastes best on white Italian sliced bread. I’ve never really liked it on what bread. My mom used to buy this wheat bread with seeds in it, and it was one of the reasons I never ate sandwiches. SO if you’re not a fan of the bread taste then switch it up. It can take a while sometimes to find out what your favorite bread is, but when you do it’s worth it.
6. How are you cooking it?
So I mentioned this in the first one how I look to cook it in a pan so it’s not too burned. It also causes you to keep a lot of the flavor. But I will say my favorite way is a way I can’t really use. I love it in a panini but I don’t own one. I think all sandwiches taste better in that it’s just such a great way of toasting. So really try out all the way in your mind, even toasting the bread before and putting the cheese on after, I know some people don’t like it too melted so try that way it that’s what you prefer. Try out all types of methods of cooking it cause that can change the flavor pretty dramatically.
