Trader Joe’s is a maze of amazing foods that are easy to cook, inexpensive, and healthier alternatives to our favorite comfort foods! But I know what it’s like to get lost in there wondering what you should get that will last for a whole week’s worth of meals? Below I have saved you the pain of being pushed around in Trader Joe’s by soccer moms so that you can get in and get out with the best, yummiest, easiest and most inexpensive meals that won’t go over fifty dollars.
One of my absolute favorite meals to make from Trader Joes is the Mandarin Orange Chicken, which you can find in the frozen aisle, and Cauliflower rice near the produce. It is absolutely addicting, and a healthy option for the MSG takeout. All you need is a skillet and a stovetop and you’re ready to go! It takes 30 minutes tops to prepare and make and it’ll make five servings for the week so you’re all set for a faux takeout five days out of the week.
Super inexpensive and a great buy for breakfast at only 1.99! It’s easy to make in the microwave for on the go mornings. Not to mention it’ll fill you up so you won’t be hungry while getting all that work done!
This Cauliflower Gnocchi is sooo good and a way better alternative to the real Gnocchi at a restaurant. It will make for a great faux pasta meal when you’re feeling like having a warm and yummy cooked meal. You wouldn’t have even known they were frozen before you cooked them!
If you have a kitchen available to you then chicken can be your go-to for lunches or dinners once you have it prepared. Though it can be a hassle to prepare chicken, Trader Joe’s has tons of options that are already cooked and just need to be heated up so your Sunday night prep just went from two long hours to thirty minutes!
Another microwaveable option to the amazing stir fry veggies we all love! You can add the boneless chicken breast to this for a whole meal or make it for just a snack! Either way, it’ll be an easy way to cook a healthy meal that only takes less than thirty minutes to prepare.
So you have a microwave, right? At this point, you’re going to need one with all these easily prepped meals Trader Joe’s has to offer! Instead of cooking brown rice in a pot for way longer than it should take, use their boxed brown rice that can be popped in the microwave and ready in three minutes!
Another easy protein buy Trader Joe’s has! All you have to do to prepare the shrimp is defrost and peel in warm water. Then you can place them in a skillet to grill them and put with the brown rice, cauliflower rice, or the stir fry vegetables!
For all your cooking needs Trader Joe’s has a boxed version of their Organic Virgin Coconut Oil that comes in little packet serving sizes! That way you not only know how much you’re using but you don’t have to deal with a big thing of coconut oil when you’re lugging your cooking materials around.
