The Most Stylish Clothing Stores Near Emerson College
One of the many perks of being an Emerson student is the fact that our campus is in the middle of the city of Boston. We are close enough to everything to do whatever we desire, and if you love shopping and trying on clothes as much as I do then you will be content to know that there are numerous cute stylish clothing shops all over Boston, especially on Newbury Street. So, there’s no excuse for not being in style with the number of fashionable shops to go around and explore for fun. Remember that the holidays are near: which means that discounts are coming as well!
Here is my list of the most stylish clothing stores that you will find near Emerson.
Crush Boutique
If you haven’t been here then you need to come ASAP. Crush Boutique is definitely worth the walk from Emerson. Founded by two friends sharing a dream, Rebecca Hall and Laura Macris created Crush. Crush is one of the most stylish clothing stores in Boston. It has been featured in magazines such as InStyle, Lucky Magazine, Glamour UK, and Us Weekly. They have also received several Boston distinctions; including various “Boston’s Best” awards from The Improper Bostonian and “Best of the New” from The Boston Globe.
Crush Boutique first opened its doors back in 2007 in Beacon Hill, and now they have a second location on Newbury Street that opened on Valentine’s Day in 2012. From both locations, you can expect the best service and to find some cute fashionable clothes. From casual-chic to elegant cocktail, Crush’s style might best be described as a mix between Francesca’s with a touch of J.Crew. It’s cute and whimsical but also sophisticated. The items you buy from Crush are going to be hard to find elsewhere. Why? Because they are unique stylish clothes. So, you don’t have to worry about seeing your frenemies with your favorite sweater.
Aritzia
Every time I enter this boutique I feel like I have entered fashion heaven. Founded by the Canadian Hill family in their 70-year-old department store in Vancouver. CEO, Brian Hill, opened the first boutique in 1984 with only one idea in mind: to offer gorgeous clothes in beautiful spaces with a service worth remembering. Now they have over 80 stores in Canada and the US.
This Canadian brand is pricey but so worth it. Their stylish clothes are not only classic and chic but also timeless. The clothes are made of high-quality fabric that will last you forever. It is definitely a luxury that you will not regret buying. From their everyday basics to their work clothes, everything here is fashionably unique, there’s no way you are going to go wrong with anything you buy from here. Their winter coats are exceptional too, very warm and of high quality. If you are someone who doesn’t mind spending a little more for stylish clothes than you need to make Aritzia your to-go boutique! Or you can save money and wait until their sale season.
LIT Boutique
Just right across Crush Boutique on Newbury Street, you will find this lovely boutique known by its flawless gorgeous dresses. LIT Boutique opened in 2005, and since their birth, this small store has been providing Bostonians and visitors with an “eclectic mix of fashion-forward designs,” according to the owner Nehal Shah, that will make any woman look playful but with an air of a queen. Their selection of accessories is fantastic, and although they specialized in hard-not-to-look dresses for every occasion, they also have a collection for summer, winter and even work-out stylish clothes. Their prices might be a little higher, but you will always find goodies here at a great price- you only need to look thoroughly!
They also have a blog where you can find fashion tips and stay updated on the trends of today. You should also follow them on Instagram and Facebook: They first announce their sales on social media!
No Rest for Bridget
This boutique opened back in 2004 on 17th Street Promenade in Costa Mesa, CA. Now they are a retail fashion chain with stores located in Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Boston, where their stylish clothing store is located on Newbury Street. Perhaps, it is a small boutique but it has everything to offer, especially for all the college girls who are looking for casual and formal-wear stylish clothes. They have many trendy cute dresses, blouses, pants, accessories, and even some little things such as candles, books, and other homie goodies. They also have an online store where you can see and shop their entire collection. You have the option to either go in person and treat yourself to a wonderful weekend shopping retreat or take your time to go through their shop online.
Bobbles and Lace
Before they were located in the North End, and now they have moved to a more central location also located on Newbury Street. The store was founded by two dedicated women working for the fashion industry who are also aunt and niece: Valerie White and Lindsay Rose Rando. This aunt-niece team shares a lifelong love idea that high fashion shouldn’t come at a high cost because we all should have the right to be in fashion. Currently, Bobbles and Lace have six locations– Marblehead, Newburyport, Boston, Andover, Portsmouth, NH, and Wellesley.
This boutique, loved by its loyal customers, is known for its simplicity, organized, stylish clothes that it is always aware of what is in for the season. Whether you need a flirty cocktail dress, a sexy vixen first date look, professional attire or a trendy Instagram-look to wear all season, you can count on this boutique and with the help of their fashion experts, you will be able to find the look. Their fall collection is now available and filled with so many fabulous dresses, sweaters, and skirts that will make you want to buy the entire store! Their shoe collection is very worth mentioning too since they have the most adorable booties, pumps, sandals, and winter boots depending on the time of the year. The bracelets, hats, and other accessories are unique and very stylish.
