Houston is a very photographable area and the walls are not excluded. If you wan’t to get that perfect Insta shot, or just a cut colorful photo, you’re in luck! Check out these Instagrammable walls in Houston to up your Insta game.
Note that I’ve given these walls names, none of the following names are official.
Located directly across the street from Agora, a moody café, this less popular wall teems with both insight and hipsters that rove nearby. Subjects can either focus their photos on one of many details, or on the wall as a whole, making this a versatile photo spot. There’s even a quote about love that peeps out as a triangle. When combining its aspects, this wall will surely make you think.
A classic post card was transformed into a wall at Gelazzi. Each letter of the mural displays a trademark of Houston that is unique to the city, as can be displayed with the rocket that signifies NASA. Take a day trip to come rock your Houston pride here, then cool down after with some Gelazzi Gelato indoors.
Sitting on the outskirts of an arena of other walls on Leeland Street is this two-part wall. On the right, it’s edgy, and on the left, it’s nothing but clean and simple geometrics. This is the wall for alter-egos, or is the wall for choosing a side. You decide.
Also sitting on the outskirts of Leeland Street’s murals is this garage door that folds over a wall. Yes, it’s permanently pulled down. Come here for a shoot that considers the texture and dimension between the door and the wall, as well as a shoot that considers word play. Subjects can close their eyes for both a model-esque and interesting take on the words.
Sugar & Cloth is home to one of Houston’s most in arguably fun walls. A cheerful attitude can almost be guaranteed when shooting in the midst of all its bright colors. Be sure to be prepared for a slew of other people though, as this wall almost always has a crowd.
You can’t come here alone. When arriving at Thread, a children’s clothing store in The Heights, an inner fascination and simple appreciation for others is unhinged. Make that positivity known in a meaningful way by taking your photo with whoever’s warm presence you’re grateful for having in your life. Consider using a tri-pod or selfie stick here.
This eye-catching, vibrant wall has words that are a tribute to the creatives of Houston. Yet, ‘inspired’ isn’t the only thing that’ll run through your mind when you see this wall. Barely altered since its creation, it boasts Houston pride. It’s a perfect photo opportunity for anyone who’s equally as proud to have been on 313 Travis Street in the finest city of Texas.
Sometimes walls with words painted on them can be harder to photograph because of wanting to capture the words in their entire length, but fear not. These wise words are open for interpretation in a compact, vertical-centric way. My interpretation? This Lulu Lemon at Houston’s City Center sure wants to see you smiling. Preferably later, on Instagram. How can you not love these Instagrammable walls in Houston?
