The Most Hype Things Announced By Disney For 2021

Disney decided to hold its annual Disney Investor Day event on December 10th, 2020. However, due to obvious restrictions due to Covid, Disney took to the official Disney Twitter account to announce everything they have coming in 2021. Rather you are a fan of Star Wars, Marvel, or any other area of Disney’s reach, they announced something which will make you excited. So, without further ado, here are the most hype things Disney has in store for 2021.

Star Wars

Star Wars fans have a lot to look forward to in 2021. Disney announced 10 new Star Wars series, most of which will be coming to Disney+. Of the shows announced, some of the most hype includes an Obi-Wan Kenobi series, The Acolyte, which is set in the High Republic Era, and A Droid Story. The last one respectfully is my personal favorite, which sees a trio of R2-D2, C3PO, and a brand new, unseen character. Additionally, two new Star Wars movies were announced, Rogue Squadron and an untitled Taika Waititi Star Wars film. It is important to note that many of these probably will not come out in 2021, though.

Disney Animation

Disney Animation has several absolute bangers on the way. Amongst the announcements were four new series coming to Disney+. First, Baymax!, A Big Hero 6 series is due for 2022. Next, Zootopia Plus, based on the hit animal kingdom movie, is also coming in 2022. Also, Tiana, a Princess, and The Frog story will be coming in 2023. Last, but certainly not least, is a new musical comedy based on Moana, which will be due in 2023. Needless to say, Disney Animation has so much on their plate for the next few years, and this is only everything the public knows about! Just imagine what they have still under wraps…

Pixar

Disney Pixar should not be forgotten about, as they too have plenty of great things set to come between 2021 and 2023. For starters, a new series of shorts, Pixar Popcorn, will be up as soon as January and will feature plenty of the most iconic Pixar characters. Also, both Dug from the movie Up, And Lightning McQueen from Cars will get their own animated series in the upcoming years. A few movies were announced as well, including Lightyear, which is the origin story for Buzz Lightyear, and a mysterious movie about a boy named Luca, simply named Luca. Lastly, Turning Red is the oddest thing announced, I will let you look it up on your own as a homework assignment after you finish reading the rest of this article.

Disney+

Amongst all the shows and movies that have been announced for the next couple of years, Disney+ made several other announcements which I thought I would include here. For starters, Disney+ will be increasing its price to $8 starting in March of 2021, and also will offer a new $18.99 bundle which includes ad-free Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN+. Lastly, the company announced that they will add 50 new series and movies over the next few years of all of your favorite series.

Disney World & Disneyland

The Coronavirus has had a pretty harsh effect on Disney World and Disneyland. As such, tons of people missed out on Disney theme parks all together in 2020, and if they did experience it, it was not that true Disney experience. Luckily Disney has made it very clear to the fans that they are working as diligently and quickly as possible to get back to that standard Disney experience. You can not really blame them for not having a normal year, as Covid impacted literally everyone. Still, it will be nice to be able to get another Disneyland trip in, even though I am not sure when that will be…

Marvel Series

I saved the best for last here, as Marvel seemed to take the main spotlight of the Twitter announcements, and with the most hype things to get stoked on. For example, they announced a plethora of series coming to Disney+ as early as 2021, including WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki. These three series have been in a weird state of purgatory as no one knew when to expect their arrival, so it is nice to finally see a release date. Other announced series included Hawkeye, What If?, a series of shorts based on Groot, and finally a Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. It didn’t even stop there, as they went on to announce a few movies for good measure.

Marvel Movies

For starters, Kevin Feige made it very clear that they will not be recasting Chadwick Boseman’s character, King T’Challa in Black Panther 2. Many fans were happy to hear this, as no one could replace his character. The movie is set for 2022. Next, was the announcement of the third Ant-Man movie, Ant-Man, and the Wasp: Quantumania, and is said to introduce Kang the Conqueror, one of the most dangerous baddies in the Marvel universe. Next, was the announcement of a new Fantastic Four movie, although not much is known about the project. Finally, Doctor Strange 2, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness is coming and will tie in both to Wandavision, as well as the highly anticipated third Spider-Man movie. Speaking of, there has been no official word yet on that third Spider-Man movie as of now, however, it is very clear that Marvel is creating what might possibly be the biggest Spider-Man movie of all time. Chances are we still have a few years before we get to see it, but you might as well start getting hyped now!

Disney just keeps dropping hits for real. It is not hard to do though when you own almost everything ever. I swear to god that mouse is going to take over the planet, and it basically already has…. Did I forget anything that was announced that you are hype for? If I did, make sure to let me know in the comments below!
