Fashion outfits change as decades and styles do as well. The late ’90s are when most of the 2020 college students were born, and the 90’s fashion is often mentioned and referred to. There is a reason – the ’90s were awesome! Granted I was alive for 3 years of it, I still have so much pride in being a ’90s baby. There are some great fashion takeaways from this era, and most of them have made a come back in the present day. With these tips and fashion trends, we will have you thinking like its 2020, but with the fashion of 1990. Let’s get started to all of the fashion items you will need to rock the 2020 year.

1. Levis Jeans

Levi’s jeans are super hot and very popular in 1990 and 2020. Rachel Green may have worn them best, but you can wear them better. Nothing says late 90’s like rocking a pair of comfy, trendy, Levi jeans will go great with just about anything else you decide to pair with it. Throw on a crop top, hoop earrings, and you will be a ’90s chic icon babe in seconds. It is pretty easy to purchase Levis, head to your local mall or browse online shops such as Urban Outfitters. The best thing about purchasing Levis jeans, is that you will get plenty of use out of them, they hold their value very well and when will jeans not be in style? Levi’s jeans are sold at Macy’s, Urban Outfitters, Levis store directly, Nordstrom, and many other similar stores. It is definetly worth looking in to, and you don’t have to spend $100. There are some steals out there! The ’90s would not even be close to complete without these jeans.

2. Hoop Earrings

I absolutely love hoop earrings as a comeback trend from the ’90s. Not only are these trendy, but you can wear them just about anywhere. I wear them to work, school, date nights, and even to the beach. For a while around 2009 no one would be caught dead wearing hoop earrings and then within the past 5 years or so, they definetly made a comeback. Hoops come in the classic neutral colors, but you can also play around with how thick you want the hoops or go with something bright like orange or blue. After all, the ’90s are back. Throw on some hoop earrings and complete any outfit!

3. Scrunchie

Scrunchies are back, and let’s face it: they are a great way to keep your hair back. Get a pack of them with a bunch of colors, and rock that ’90s trend. Scrunchies are super cute and super trendy, and like I had mentioned, they do more than just pull our hair back – they are also a cute little bracelet! Well, kinda. The good news is this, you can be a ’90s style icon and not empty your pockets looking for clothes that may not be here to stay in terms of fashion. Scrunchies are simple, trendy, and inexpensive! Not to mention, scrunchie’s are way more comfortable than any other typical hair tie or hair elastic. Spending under or around $10 on this hair tie will do your accessorizing wonders, as this little hair tie acts as a bracelet.

This trend is probably the biggest 90’s fashions that you have seen everywhere. Sunglasses will always be trending, I mean, won’t your eyes always need protection? I am pretty positive that this trend is here to stay, and you can pick these up just about anywhere. I would check out places like Tj Maxx, Macy’s, Nordstrom Rack, or other online boutiques to try to get a good quality pair of sunglasses for a relatively cheap price. You may have seen everyone in our age group rockin’ this cat-eye look. There is a reason for it – ’90s baby! These sunglasses are super cute, sassy, trendy, and you won’t regret wearing them. 5. Crop Tops

Crop tops are pretty essential. Wear them in the summer months, or get away with throwing a leather jacket over it paired with jeans and rock the outfit even if temperatures aren’t super hot. If there is one thing that everyone wore in the ’90s, (I mean all the women), it is a crop top. These are easy to find and can be relatively inexpensive as well. Crop tops look great with jean skirts too, and I like to wear crop tops that have either writing on them or a printed pattern like floral. I had actually purchased a Calvin Klein crop top a few years back at TJ Maxx, for an affordable price. I wore it to the beach as the perfect t-shirt.
