Easiest-Ever Apple Pie
Everyone loves a good apple pie. It’s a holiday staple, and even when you’re absolutely stuffed, you’ll find a way to make room for it. Even though buying apple pie from the store is so much easier, sometimes you just want to be able to say you baked your own! Well, have no fear! We searched and found the best easy apple pie recipe for you! Keep reading to learn how to make it.
This easy apple pie recipe is amazing because it uses ingredients – like a frozen pie crust – that will save you so much time! It is also a good, all-American recipe, so it will taste just like the classic apple pie you’re looking for.
1) First, preheat your oven to 375 degrees F and let your crust thaw at room temperature for 15 minutes. Then mix pecans, flour, and brown sugar in a bowl. Using your fingertips, you will want to work in your butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Set this aside for later.
2) Next, take a fork and prick the sides and bottom of the pie crust. Bake the crust from 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly golden. Brush the bottom and sides of the crust with a thin coating of egg white. Reset your oven to 425 degrees F.
3) After you have done that, combine granulated sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon in a large bowl. Toss in your apples and lemon juice. Cover this mixture with wax paper and microwave for 6 minutes, stir, and then microwave for 6 more minutes. Spoon this filling into your crust and sprinkle the pecan topping over the filling.
4) Bake your pie 10 to 12 minutes, or until topping is golden. Let the pie cool on a wire rack. Once done, serve with some vanilla ice cream!
A fun hack for this recipe is to remove the crust from its foil pan and mold it into a 9-inch pie plate. This way, no one will have to know you didn’t make the crust yourself!
