Sunglasses trends are constantly changing; it’s gone from aviator, wayfarer to hexagonal sunglasses. If you haven’t noticed, the best sunglasses trends always revamp a previous shape from another decade. Thanks to recent fashion week debuts, here are the coolest sunglasses you need to put on your wish list: the cat-eye, round and over-sized rectangular shades are back in style.
Wayfarer shades were debuted in the 1950’s. Marilyn Monroe and John F. Kennedy were frequently spotted rocking the look. Browline sunglasses made their claim to fame with James Dean and Malcolm X in the 1950’s. The 1960’s brought us the cat-eye sunglasses style. Of course Marilyn Monroe rocked the look with her husband Arthur Miller. Francoise Hardy debuted the square sunglasses style, a serious fashion trendsetter go-to style. Round frames in 1970’s seen on John Lennon and over-sized frames, Jacqueline Kennedy’s favorite look. Top Gun in the 1980’s brought us aviators, a popular sunglasses style today. Thanks to Princess Diana, big and plastic sunglasses became popular in the 1980’s. The 1990’s brought us colored lenses and the bug eye. Thank you Nicole Richie and the Olsen twins for deeming bug eye sunglasses acceptable.
The Cat-Eye
These make the coolest sunglasses list by far! They look epic in red!
If you are in love with Celine sunglasses, this is as close as you’re going to get to a great pair of knock-offs. While they might be a bit steep in price, they are by far the sturdiest and durable sunglasses. They will last you years.
Round Sunglasses
Again, the red shades look sick. Channel your inner Penny Lane and rock out!
