Feeling lucky? St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner! March 17th is a holiday that many people embrace, but college students know how to celebrate the best. College and university students around the nation enjoy the festivities that accompany this day, and recognized by tradition, everyone must wear green on St. Patrick’s Day. For those of you without green in your closets, here are some accessory suggestions to add a *touch* to your outfit. Below are the best ways to wear green this upcoming St. Patrick’s day!
The cheapest and easiest accessory is a temporary tattoo, and their themes are always geared toward the upcoming holidays. Some tattoo packs might include shapes like a Leprechaun, shamrock, or better yet, a four-leaved clover (a sign of good luck). These tats are small enough to not distract from your party outfit and large enough to prevent a pinch – a perfect St. Patty’s Day accent. Be sure to apply the tattoo where it will be seen!
Wear it loud and wear it proud! St. Patricks day is a great day for wearing super silly or obnoxious t-shirts whether they revolve around drinking or kissing! So make sure to get one that’s totally “you”.
St. Patrick’s Day provides the best opportunity to bring out those recently caught Mardi Gras beads. Beads are everywhere, especially after Mardi Gras, so might as well put them to use for more than one holiday. If you didn’t make it to a parade this year, shop at your local dollar or department store to find a green necklace that complements your outfit best.
Specifically, wearing a green headband will guarantee a cute accessory to your outfit. A green headband will keep your hair out of way and add a little festive touch.
High socks are the new, trendy accessories. So use St. Patrick’s Day to flaunt your fashion style. Add your own spin with pin stripes, polka dots or chevron. Match your socks with comfy and cute converse sneakers, and look at you – one stylish Irish gal.
Hair ties are noticeable, while discreet enough to not be too flashy. There are plenty of hair ties that resemble bracelets but functions as a way to hold back your hair, serving the purpose of accessory and functionality. Wearing green has never been easier!
When it comes to nail art, the possibilities are endless. Whether your favorite thing about St. Patrick’s Day is leprechauns or clovers, rainbows or gold glitter, you can have it all right at your fingertips (literally). Just use your favorite shade of green with the regular brush, and incorporate a simple design, like a gold accent with a smaller brush. Or, if you have the hand-eye coordination and an artistic side, you can paint a clover or a little leprechaun on one or all your nails.
