Cutting back on sugars and carbs plays a key role in losing weight because one, cutting sugars can lower your insulin levels and help you feel less hungry! When you don’t have an appetite, you don’t eat, which means you lose that stubborn weight you’ve been waiting to lose! When you cut out the carbs, your body will use energy by burning stored fat instead of carbs! You can lose up to 10 lbs. in as soon as a week or two if you keep up with this lifestyle!
Some people become afraid of consuming protein because they’re afraid of bulking or gaining additional weight. Well, it’s honestly the complete opposite! Adding more protein into your diet can reduce you appetite tremendously because protein keeps you more full for longer! Protein also boosts your metabolism which is very important when it comes to losing weight.
Staying hydrated is so freaking important when it comes to weight loss and I cannot stress that enough. Sometimes our bodies get confused because when we feel thirsty, we think we feel hungry, and we start to eat. When you drink a lot of water, you can stay full for a long time without eating as frequently. Water also helps to suppress sugary cravings, so all of you who have a sweet tooth, start drinking more water! It also helps with clearing up skin, which is an added bonus to losing weight.
Sleep is 0 calories, and is so crucial when it comes to losing weight! Studies have shown that people who sleep late, or don’t get enough sleep tend to gain weight more easily, compared to the people who do get enough sleep. Obesity is also common with people who do not get enough shuteye. Who doesn’t want to lose weight from relaxing and sleeping?! I know I do.
Eating fiber rich foods is important because soluble fiber has shown to reduce fat, especially where you belly area is which a lot of people struggle to get rid of. Fibers can also help you go to the bathroom more easily and frequently! So, if you have trouble with going to the bathroom, or bloating throughout the whole day, fiber is your new best friend! Some foods that are fiber-rich include avocados, raspberries, artichokes, lentils, chickpeas, oats, popcorn, almonds, chia seeds, and more!
Highly processed foods are terrible, I repeat TERRIBLE when it comes to weight loss. Even though a processed food might seem healthy, most have an overload of sodium, sugar, oil, and fat! It is so much better to consume what Mama Nature provides for you trust me! This way, you can feel more energized, and you won’t feel the need to binge, or overeat. The real question is, would you rather eat a little bit of processed food and feel hungry fast, or eat wholesome, natural and unprocessed foods and feel full for longer?
