The Best Things To Do In Philadelphia During The Summer

Like many cities across the nation, Philadelphia in the summer is hot but it offers a variety of fun things to do. From ice cream to museums and music, there is something for everyone to get in. Spend your summer vacation making memories in the City of Brotherly Love. Here are some of the best things to do in Philadelphia during the summer.

1. Grab some ice cream at Franklin’s Fountain

Franklin’s Fountain is an ice cream shop located near Penn’s Landing. While the ice cream is a bit pricey, it is worth it for the experience. The shop has an old-time feel to it and fits into its Old City setting quite nicely! They offer a wide variety of flavors and cone or dish options.

2. Run through the fountains in Dilworth Park

Want to cool off after walking around? Look no further than Dilworth Park. It is located right near City Hall. The fountains go up and down, allowing for an opportunity for people of all ages to have fun while cooling off. Let your hair down and have some fun.

3. Explore a new museum

If you would rather spend some time in the air conditioning, Philadelphia is home to a wide variety of museums. From history and religion to art and science and more, there is something for everyone and every taste to learn and explore. Keep learning new things, even on summer vacation!

4. Check out a concert at the Festival Pier at Penn’s Landing

From HoagieNation (headlined by Hall and Oates and Train) and the Roots Picnic festivals to Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly and Paramore, there is something for all ages and tastes. The outdoor music venue has multiple stages and has vendors on-premise for food and beverage needs.
