The best summer desserts are OBVIOUSLY being served on the Fourth of July! The Fourth of July is a great time to get together with family and friends and celebrate the independence of the United States of America, so why not do it with the best summer desserts on your table?! Buckle down and prepare for your extravagant July Fourth with these super cute and definitely delicious red, white and blue themed desserts.
This is one of the best summer desserts for the Fourth of July, in my opinion, simply because it doesn’t necessarily have to be for dessert. Anyone can snack on this throughout the day when they’re feeling peckish on the (hopefully) hot summer day as they celebrate with family and friends. It’s a great idea for a dessert platter though, as not everyone has a super sweet tooth. Personally, I love fruit AND sweet desserts, so it’s nice to have options. You can never go wrong here. This American Flag fruit platter is so easy to make, and it is also so easy to eat as it is comprised of skewers of fruit. Take however many skewers you think you want or will need, and add blackberries, bananas, and strawberries accordingly for it to represent the American Flag. You could also substitute out strawberries for raspberries and blackberries for blueberries! Any fruit in that color scheme would work. I 10/10 recommend this. It is one of the best summer desserts!
Another fruit-based dessert, but a little bit sweeter! Red white and blue chocolate-covered strawberries are one of the best summer desserts because it is a combination of fruit and chocolate. How can you say no to that?! They are perfect for a Fourth of July party, obviously because of the color scheme going on, but also because you can just pop one in your mouth for a quick little snack! Super easy to make as well. Just be sure to wash your strawberries, and personally, I like to cut off the green head of the strawberry before I dip it in, but I guess that is my preference. Then all you need to do is dip the strawberry in white chocolate and add some red white and blue sprinkles on the bottom! You could also add food coloring to the white chocolate so the chocolate is white and blue. You could go a ton of different directions with this which is why it is one of the best summer desserts. Totally give it a shot this Fourth of July!
This red, white, and blue trifle will blow your mind away. It is absolutely delicious, and it looks stunning, too! This dessert is great for big July Fourth parties as it serves quite a lot of people, but you could always make mini versions of it so everyone has their own personal trifle. It all depends on the atmosphere of the party you are going to be at. All you need is to buy a light and airy sponge cake, whipping cream or cool whip, and strawberries of blueberries. All desserts are pretty easy to switch ingredients around, for example, you could totally add or swap in blackberries and raspberries or something! You just break up the sponge cake into small chunks, add a layer of it into the jar, add your cream layer, fruit layer, and keep going until you’ve reached your way to the top! It is so delicious- surely one of the best summer desserts for the Fourth of July.
These cute little cheesecake bites are the best summer desserts as they are so easy to just grab and eat in a couple of bites! They’re great for serving a crowd, especially when toddlers are involved as they never tend to be able to finish their bigger desserts. Cheesecake can be a bit more time-consuming to make, but they are totally worth it. With a simple and delicious graham cracker crust, you make these cheesecake bites the same way you would make a regular New York Style Cheesecake, except add red and blue food coloring into the mix. You could also add a little glamour to the cheesecake by topping it off with a strawberry or a blueberry. Totally give this dessert a try for the Fourth of July!
This cake is super similar to the trifle mentioned above, but it still has its differences. It is one of my favorites, and one of the best summer desserts out there, especially for the Fourth of July. You can make angel food cake homemade or buy it from the box, but it always obviously tastes better homemade. It isn’t too hard to make either. Once you make the cake, you cut the thick sponge in half and fill the middle layer with cream and strawberries. You then add more cream to the top of that and finish it off with a lovely strawberry and blueberry garnish. It is absolutely delicious and looks delectable as well!
When you think of desserts for the Fourth of July, you probably think of food. However, desserts can be drinks, too. I mean, drinks can be served all day, but when a drink is super sweet it is a fun way to serve it as a dessert when you are feeling full up from the huge dinner you already had. You can go about patriotic punch in just about any way you would like. Ice, red fruit punch, and blue fruit punch all in one huge jug to self-serve, or you can make them in pre-poured cups. And if you are over 21, you could even add some alcohol in there as well. This is one of the best summer desserts to refresh and refuel after a day in the sun.
