Looking to change up your usual order on your morning coffee run? And/or afternoon coffee run? We don’t judge here, it be like that sometimes. Check out the suggestions below for your Starbucks fall drinks!
I’m going to go ahead and get this one out of the way. The obligatory mention, if you want something that has become synonymous with the changing of the leaves, then look no further than the iconic pumpkin spice latte. It is so ubiquitous with this time of year that it has spawned memes and become the basic fall drink of choice. Everyone and their mom, especially their mom, loves them a pumpkin spice latte.
My mom is one of the only moms I know that chooses this over the pumpkin spice latte. So if you want some Starbucks fall drinks flavor, consider the Maple Pecan family of drinks. It is available as the aforementioned frappuccino, but also comes as a latte for those of you that have actual seasons that would make it too cold to be drinking a frappuccino. I introduced an aunt to this who was visiting from out of the country and it changed her life. For the rest of her visit she would point out a Starbucks whenever we passed by.
Also available in a variety of drinks, the Salted Caramel Mocha gives you the right balance of sweetness that you need to wake you up in the mornings when all you want is to stay in bed. Get it girl, you deserve it.
To be quite honest, I don’t know what makes this different from a regular mocha other than instead of a mocha drizzle it’s the salted caramel?
A quick google search tells me it’s that plus some toffee syrup, so in theory you can have this one throughout the year if you’re so inclined.
This was a new addition to the menu last fall. I’m going to assume that it’s for those that enjoy the pumpkin spice flavor but need the caffeine to be ramped waaaay up. I enjoy a good cold brew, so I did try it when it came out after my coworkers seemed to really enjoy it. It did taste good, but not enough that I wanted to replace my usual sweet cream Vanilla Cold Brew.
All the spice with none of the pumpkin. I think this is why I don’t understand the hype around the pumpkin spice latte. Unpopular opinion alert: I think a chai latte and pumpkin spice latte taste pretty much the same. A chai latte you can get year round too, so I feel like it should be considered the superior fall drink just on the basis of availability.
BUT WHAT IF YOU COMBINED THEM BOOOOOOTH. *VICTORY TRUMPET NOISE*
Honestly though, this feels unnecessary? But you do you boo. If this makes you happy then you chase your sunset. It’ll only be more beautiful with a cup of deliciousness to sip from as you gaze upon it lovingly.
Another offering that is available year round, the Cinnamon Dolce Latte. Cinnamon is basically the spice of fall so maybe THIS should be the Starbucks fall drinks King. Get it as a latte or as a frapp. Honestly, in compiling this list I’m finding a lot of fall drinks that you can have all year. Don’t limit yourselves friends, break free of your pumpkin overlord. The only pumpkin you should bow to is the Great Pumpkin and only in the presence of the Peanuts gang.
This should have been higher on the list, I don’t know why it’s not. That one’s on me but I’m in too deep to rearrange everything. Hot Chocolate. Classic. Simple. Easy. Beloved. A favorite to young and old alike. It’s good for more than just fall, it follows you, warming your heart, all through the winter until the gentle breeze of spring comes to whisk you away. Sip that smooth chocolaty drink in front of the window as you watch the leaves change and contemplate your place in an ever changing universe. That’s the power of a good cup of hot chocolate.
OMG, BUT WHAT IF WE DO BOTH AGAIN *MIND EXPLODES*
Maybe the true power of fall is in uniting all of your favorite flavors into super Starbucks fall drinks. Ok, adding cinnamon to hot chocolate isn’t groundbreaking or an odd genetic quirk, no matter how hard Emma and Snow White tried to convince us on Once Upon A Time (which coincidentally feels like a fall show itself don’t you think?). I’m actually a fan of this combo, makes it taste more like a Mexican hot chocolate, which I really love.
I’ve only heard tell of this drink, I’ve never seen anyone actually order it. It makes sense though, since apple cider is definitely a fall drink or at least that’s the season I associate with it. Being from the West Coast I wonder if that’s why? It’s just not as readily consumed here as TV has me believing it is in the East Coast. Can any easterners let me know? Can pop culture be trusted? I feel like there’s always an episode where people are drinking apple cider or going apple picking and making apple cider from their spoils.
Ok, this one is me screaming into the void for Starbucks to bring it back. I LOVE dark chocolate, so a few falls ago when they put this on the menu I was PUMPED. It has never come back and I just don’t understand why the seasonal things I love never come back (this is looking at you Iced Coconut Milk Mocha Macchiato). So if Starbucks could bring this back this fall, or even the cold brew version they had for a minute, that would be great.
