Sex and the city is one of the most iconic TV series. I don’t think I’d be dramatic in saying that it’s in-fact one of the best of all time? The Sex and the City movie is the number one film to watch with your girlfriends. A programme with great wisdom and relatable to many women around the world. It covers everything us women think about on the regular – heartbreak, real-world advice and most importantly, fashion.
Let’s be honest. We all have those days. The days where we count down the minutes until we can get into our pjs and climb straight into bed. The moment where we can read a book or watch a film, the moment we can just totally chill out. The time we can say a long, hard and trying day is finally over. This is probably a weekly struggle, ok…maybe a daily struggle.
As we all know, sex and the city is a fashion go-to. Its not just about their dating life and real-world advice, the whole programme is an iconic fashion statement. I mean, if we’re honest, we only watch it for the fashion anyway.
There is so much truth in this quote. As a society, we always let the things we don’t have, affect what we do have. And in addition to this, why do we always want what we don’t have? But when we get it, we no longer want it?
For anyone who has watched sex and the city, and I’m sure for anyone who hasn’t – we all know Carrie Bradshaw and her friends. And, we know exactly what they’re all like. This quote is the perfect representation of any woman. There’s no doubt about it, if we’re all honest with ourselves, we can all be a bit of a bitch.
Carrie Bradshaw speaks the truth. One thing to take away from sex and the city, and one thing it has definitely taught me – is to love yourself. Accept your flaws, because we all have them. As proven in the programme, even Carrie Bradshaw has flaws! We can’t all be perfect, but love yourself anyway.
This is it. If there’s one quote I can relate to, it’s this. Your friends are such an important part of your life, and are so important when going through a hard time. As much as this quote is trying to be ‘funny’ – there’s so much truth in talking to your friends, or even talking to someone else if you’ve worn them out! Its normalising talking, and saying it is ok not to be ok in a, you know, less intimidating way?
To me, the most important thing that sex and the city prides themselves upon, is friendship. The relationship between four women, what they go through and how they are always there for each other. Friendship is so important to everyone, however old you are. You will always need your friends. Sex and the city represent this perfectly. Friends have arguments, they debate, but in the end, they are always there for you when you need them (and even when you don’t need them, they’re always in the background).
On a final note – it’s all total bullshit. I mean, what isn’t? I’m just gonna’ leave this here.
