The Best Self Help Books You Need To Read

Reading is one of my favourite activities to get my mind off things. It’s really relaxing to engage in an exciting story and follow someone else’s life and problems except focusing on my own. However, I recently learned that running away like that helps only temporarily and all the struggles of my life are still there, just waiting outside the corner. This is why I turned to self-help books because they allowed me to snuggle up with a tea in a corner, but instead of only entertaining me, they allowed me to find solutions. This is why today I want to share with you the list of the best self-help books you need to look into if you’re going through anything or just need to feel a little bit more inspired!

1. A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose by Eckhart Tolle

The first title on my list of the best self-help books is the one I would probably recommend all of you to try out. No matter what point in your life you are on now, A New Earth will inspire you to live life to the fullest. It allows you to stop obsessing about the past and the future and guides you to bring your focus back to now. This book also helps you understand who you are and what your true self really is.

2. Pretty Happy: Healthy Ways to Love Your Body by Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson is not just a successful actress known from her roles from movies like How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days or Bride Wars, but also a little-known fact: she is a best-selling author. This book made its way on my list of the best self-help books you should read because I feel like it might be a great beginning for anyone who is not sure whether they want to start getting into these kinds of books. It’s not only ascetically pleasing but the topics it focuses on are really important. Pretty Happy reminds you how to take care of yourself, what simple things you can do in your everyday life to start feeling your best. It’s perfect for anyone, no matter the lifestyle and body size.

3. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life by Mark Manson

According to Manson ‘positive thinking’ is not the ultimate road to happiness. Sometimes life gets hard and complicated and staying positive and smiling all the way through it is just not achievable and realistic.  This title made its way to my list of the best self-help books because it’s raw and realistic. It doesn’t sugarcoat anything. Instead, it teaches you to accept your flaws and weaknesses, inspires you to find the strength to face them and not run away from them.

4. You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero

We all sometimes need to get kicked in the butt and be reminded of how awesome we are. Each of us has been through a lot and we still have a long way ahead.  You Are a Badass inspires you to go and achieve the greatest things in life. Also, out all of the books mentioned on this list, this one is probably the most light-hearted and refreshing with funny stories and anecdotes. Not only does it help you to become the best version of you, but it will also make you laugh all the way through it!

5. The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz

The last book on my list of the best self-help books you need to read is perfect for anyone who wants more out of life. It doesn’t matter if it’s business or personal goals and happiness, this title helps you change your mindset to one that will get you far. What’s even cooler about this book is that it is not just chapters and loads of text, it gives you a step by step guide. The Magic of Thinking Big will give you a boost of motivation and push you to go for things you always wanted but was always too scared or insecure.
