The Best Rooftop Lounges Philadelphia Has To Offer
Summer is a time to get outdoors and enjoy the nice weather. Nights are warm, but not too hot. If you’re summering in Philly, you’re in for a unique treat: rooftop lounges. The best rooftop lounges Philadelphia is home to show off the city’s gorgeous landscape, while offering drinks to help you enjoy it even more. These are some of the city’s finest rooftop lounges to spend your evenings at.
1. Stratus Rooftop Lounge
Stratus Rooftop Lounge is located on Chestnut Street and sits 11 stories above Independence Hall. It was masterminded by Los Angeles designer Gulla Jonsdottir. The lounge is upscale, and ideal for your classiest GNO. Dressy attire is absolutely required, and casual clothing not allowed. The bar offers a wide variety of wines, beers, cocktails and small snack plates.
2. Assembly Rooftop Lounge
Assembly Rooftop Lounge is a rooftop lounge for all weather, with both a covered area and an open-air section. The lounge is obviously super scenic, as it overlooks the Ben Franklin Parkway. Unlike a lot of the nightlife-based bars, Assembly has happy hours and brunch options as well. They offer cocktails and wine and champagne by the bottle. Bottle service, y’all!

3. Vango Lounge and Skybar
Located on 18th Street, Vango Lounge and Skybar was created by Dia Sawan, who also owns Byblos below Vango. The rooftop lounge has an outdoor deck and an indoor patio, and they offer a wide variety of food in addition to drinks.
4. Bok Bar
Of the best rooftop lounges Philadelphia has to offer, Bok Bar has one of the most stunning views of all. It’s a smoke-free rooftop lounge located on Mifflin Street near 8th Street in South Philadelphia. It is designated as 21+, with Sundays being the only time when children are allowed. They boast a scenic panoramic view of Philadelphia that is absolutely mind-blowing.

5. Revolution House
Revolution House is located on the corner of 2nd and Market Street and is the neighborhood’s only rooftop lounge. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and the atmosphere pays homage to Philadelphia’s historic roots (if you couldn’t guess from the name!).
6. Continental Midtown
The Continental Midtown is located on Chestnut Street in Center City, right near One Liberty Observation Deck. The rooftop deck is famous for being home to Industry Night every second Monday of the month, which is a night for those who work in the service industry to take a load off and enjoy food, drinks and a DJ. The rooftop is open other nights for all to enjoy food, drinks and scenic city views.

7. R2L Restaurant
While this lounge and bar is indoors, it still offers some of the best scenic views the city has to offer. It was even voted as the number one place to see the sunset in Philadelphia! It is located on 16th Street on the 37th floor. The restaurant is known for its happy hour and signature cocktails. Definitely worth the vertigo!
8. XIX
For those who have forgotten roman numeral (like me), this bar’s name is pronounced “nineteen.” XIX is located on the 19th floor (get it?) of the Bellevue Hotel on Broad and Walnut Streets. The restaurant has various food and drink options to carry you through the day, with breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

9. SkyGarten
SkyGarten is located on Arch Street about a block away from the famous Comcast Center. The restaurant opened its doors to the public in June 2016 and has provided an authentic German Biergarten (= beer garden) experience for visitors since. Patio vibes and choosing from dozens of beers is a great way to beat the midweek lull.
10. Tiki
Tiki Philadelphia is located on 13th Street in Midtown Village. The outdoor seating area has colorful decor and fun murals that set the mood. A variety of specialty cocktails and food options will put you in a tropical summer mood in no time.
