The Best Places To Eat In Saint Charles

The town of Saint Charles is filled with a beautiful riverwalk and densely emerged in history. The foodie scene in the 630 is also one to brag about. Some of the best places to eat are right in the heart of St. Charles, while a few gems are sprinkled on the outside of town. With it’s vast night life and more than a few handfuls of amazing eateries, I’ve narrowed it down to the best…and I think most STC residents can agree with me! If you’re looking for the best places to eat while in Saint Charles, look no further. I list some of the best of the best right here for you.

Alexanders Cafe

Starting out strong with everyone’s favorite meal: breakfast. Alexanders Cafe on 64 is a must for your every breakfast-food desire. With a complete breakfast and lunch menu, and monthly specials, there’s literally no way you can go wrong with any menu option here. It for sure is at the top of the list for the best places to eat in Saint Charles. Try their Mexican omelette or their cinnamon butter pancakes- yum!

Buttermilk

STC natives know that sometimes you have to trek to the next town over, Geneva, to really experience some amazing food. Buttermilk is no different. This breakfast place is all the rage in St. Charles and Geneva, with an upwards wait time of 2 hours on some weekends! A full barista bar is available to serve up lattes and baked goods while you wait on your table. The wait is well worth it when you set your eyes on their full breakfast and lunch menu, featuring specialty items like cinnamon roll pancakes and friend country chicken skillets! Although not necessarily in Saint Charles, it still is considered one of the best places to eat by many, many residents.

Wok n’ Fire

If you live in Saint Charles and have a sushi craving, you know Wok n’ Fire is the place to go. With back lit walls and an almost a club-like feel to the dining room, it makes for a perfect date night. You can even get a front row seat at the sushi bar to watch your order come to life. With offers of Chinese and contemporary dishes, there’s sure to be something to love for everyone in your group; easily one of the best places to eat in Saint Charles for amazing food and even better dining experience.

Bien Trucha

Another Geneva exclusive, STC residents make their way to the next town over to experience some of the best Mexican cuisine the area has to offer. With small bites and a tapas style menu, a lunch outing with your girlfriends is the perfect occasion to sip fabulous margaritas and chose from a wide variety of tacos. The outdoor patio is Instagram heaven, so the spring and summer time for Bien Trucha is always heavily populated. Don’t forget to try their homemade pineapple guacamole…enough reason alone to make this one of the best places to eat (near) Saint Charles!

Francesca’s by the River

If your heart isn’t set on sushi or tacos, don’t worry, Francesca’s by the River has some of the town’s best Italian food. With an ever-changing menu, different items are featured on different weeks, so every experience at Francesca’s is new and enticing! Classic Italian pasta dishes are featured as well as more diverse options of pizzas, cold appetizers, and entrées of meat or fish. Another perfect date night must-try for one of the best places to eat in Saint Charles!

Just Kabobs

If you’re on-the-go, Just Kabobs is unlike any fast food you’ve ever had prior, and by far one of the best places to eat in Saint Charles. Mediterranean cuisine is the name of the game, and it sure does not disappoint. With options of chicken or steak kabobs, gyros, spinach pies, pita bread with homemade hummus, and a ton of vegetarian options, big portions at affordable prices make this place a favorite of many STC residents!

Los Burritos

Late-night eating is a must after spending the night in bar hopping in downtown Saint Charles’ vast nightlife. Los Burritos has got you covered. Open until 2 a.m. on weekends, authentic Mexican food is served up at affordable prices, making it easily one of the best places to eat in Saint Charles. The menu includes taco or burrito dinners, authentic Mexican entrees, endless chips and salsa…all at a late-night convenience! What more could you ask for.

Although the town of the 630 has an endless varieties of food and establishments to try, these are some of my personal favorites that reign supreme as the best places to eat in Saint Charles.
