The Best New Dance Songs To Jam To While Exercising

Listening to upbeat music is the best way to get the most out of your workout. I’ve found that dance songs are some of the best motivators that push me through a workout when I’m just not feeling it. 

Music actually has the power to increase your endurance, uplift your mood and attitude, enhance your energy levels, and even improve your physical capacity to perform certain exercises! So, throw on some workout gear, open up your go-to music app, and play these upbeat and inspiring new dance songs that you’ll definitely jam out to while you exercise!

Once More – Party Favor

One of my absolute favorite dance songs on my workout playlist, “Once More” combines elements of trap, R&B, and pop to offer an impressively complex and sophisticated beat that will inspire you to keep moving even when you feel like you’re ready to throw in the towel!

On My Mind – Diplo

Diplo is a leading figure on the electronic dance music (EDM) scene, and he’s been making some of the most popular and versatile dance songs since 2003. “On My Mind” is definitely one of his more unique tunes that offers a consistent, steady beat to keep your body moving and your endorphins flowing!

In My Opinion – SMACK

From start to finish, “In My Opinion” is an upbeat, progressive house song that is ideal for low-intensity, steady-state (LISS) cardio. This type of cardio includes brisk walking, bicycling, rowing/swimming, light jogging, and stair climbing.

This traditional house song has an infectious beat that will make your head bounce and push your feet forward. “Carry On”  is another great dance beat to listen to during LISS activities as well as high-intensity interval training (HIIT) activities, such as a circuit involving squats, mountain climbers, planks, and lunges!

Love Song – Duke Dumont

“Love Song” is one of my favorite dance songs to listen to toward the end of my workout because its inspiring beat and chord progression always motivate me to finish strong. 

Duke Dumont is another EDM artist who’s been around for years, and many of his songs offer perfect beats and tempos for LISS activities of all kinds!

Sweet Munchies – Cat Dealers

Simple yet upbeat and so easy to dance to, “Sweet Munchies” is a great dance song to listen to while doing exercises that involve sets of repetitions (reps), like squats, bicep curls, lunges, and crunches.

Many of Cat Dealers’ songs are structured very similarly to this one, so feel free to add some or all of their songs to your exercise jam playlist!

Clap Your Hands – W&W

This fun and upbeat dance song by W&W will make you feel like you’re at a Vegas pool party, which makes it ideal for pumping you up during pretty much any and every exercise. 

Throw on the official music video while you’re exercising and you’ll really feel like you’re right in the middle of the party!

Tarzan – Armin van Buuren

Armin van Buuren has been around since 1996, which has made him a major influence upon modern EDM of all genres. What’s more impressive is that he’s still producing some of the most popular and addictive mainstream dance songs being released today, and “Tarzan” is no exception!

This song is a great follow-up to “Clap Your Hands” that will keep those endorphins flowing and elevate your energy through the roof!

Bruk It Down – KSHMR

This motivational house beat inspired by Indian roots is great for HIIT circuits, weight training, and LISS activities. From start to finish, this song will have you motivated to keep your body moving at the perfect pace to help you burn fat and push through any plateaus you hit during your workout!

Another great upbeat house song for HIIT circuits and weight training, “Take Me There” has a fun, simple, and motivating beat that will inspire you to pick up the pace when you’re hitting a plateau.

The G.O.A.T. – Oliver Heldens

This dance song by long-time DJ and producer Oliver Heldens is simple, mellow, and perfect to listen to during your cool down, during your warm-up, or during your LISS activities!

Another one of my personal favorite dance songs to jam out to while exercising, “The Chase” contains all the elements you need to stay pumped up and energized during your workout, especially if you’re trying to push through that last half mile on the treadmill or on the track.
