Chocolate, often said to be the food of the gods. Well, they ain’t wrong about that! Chocolate is one of the best things man has ever discovered. It’s appropriate for all seasons. Some days we like it cold and in the cooler months, we like it warm. Cooler days are around the corner so we’re daydreaming about having some of these hot chocolate recipes that will warm up your stomach this Fall.
Hot chocolate recipes like this deserve to be first on the list! Taking your favorite chocolate bar and turning it into a drink is the most genius idea we’ve ever heard of!
Ingredients:
2 Snickers Chocolate Bars
2 tbsp cocoa powder
950ml whole milk, hot
2 tbsp chunky peanut butter
1 tbsp caramel
Chocolate sauce (Optional)
Chopped peanuts (Optional)
Caramel sauce (Optional)
Whipped cream (Optional)
Directions:
In a blender, add 2 snickers bars broken into pieces, cocoa powder, peanut butter, caramel and hot milk. Blend on high until smooth Rim 6 small mugs with chocolate sauce then dip into chopped peanuts and allow to stick. Pour hot chocolate into mugs and top with whipped cream and caramel sauce.
We love when this drink comes around at Starbucks in the Fall. So we thought this year why not try to recreate one of the hot chocolate recipes that we love so much?

For those of us who like a little something extra, this hot chocolate recipe is one that comes with a kick! If spice isn’t your thing, you may want to hang back on this one.
Ingredients:
3 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tablespoons sugar, or to taste
⅜ teaspoon ancho chile powder, or to taste
1 ¾ cups whole milk
¼ cup heavy cream
1 cinnamon stick
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Marshmallows or whipped cream, optional
Directions:
In a medium pot, whisk together chocolate, cocoa, sugar and chile. Place pan over medium-low heat and whisk until chocolate begins to melt. Slowly whisk in milk, then cream. Drop in cinnamon stick. Bring to a simmer. Remove pot from heat. Cover pot tightly and steep 1 hour. Whisk in vanilla and taste for sweetness, adding more sugar if you like. Warm over low heat before straining and serving hot, with marshmallows or whipped cream if desired.

10 ounces good quality white chocolate, chopped (I use Valrhona)
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
