The Best Disney World Events During Its 50th Anniversary

Disney World events are always ahead of the game. And with the start of her 50th anniversary, guests can expect the best of what this incredible resort has to offer. Below I listed the Best Disney World Events that will truly make the world’s most magical celebration!

Disney Kitetails

Disney Kitetails is a wonderful new celebration show at Animal Kingdom. It features giant kites that are modeled after beloved Disney characters. These giant kites are almost like inflatable balloons attached to jet skis hovering on the water. It is a very fascinating sight. There is a giant Simba, Mufasa, Timon, Pumba, and many more. There is also a show with Jungle Book characters including King Louie, Baloo, and other favorites. This would make sense since this show takes place at Animal Kingdom.

When I saw this show, I was blown away by what I have seen. I have never seen a show like this before. Have you ever seen massive Disney character balloons being pulled by jet skis? I think not! There were also colorful windcatchers adding flavor to the show, puppets adding character, and classic Disney music adding pizzazz. You can tell that a lot of work and effort was put into this show. I appreciate everyone who put their energy to present something so beautiful. Bravo Disney!

Overall I find this a perfect match for people who want to see something unique. Sure there are fireworks, parades, and meet and greets, but when was the last time you saw a show like Kitetails? I will be waiting forever for an answer.

Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade

At the Magical Kingdom, there is a brand new and exciting parade. It is Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade and it is an incredible experience. It is a parade featuring the Earadescent eight. Also known as eight of your favorite Disney characters dressed up in their special 50th-anniversary attire. You get to see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Pluto, Goofy, Chip, and Dale. They all look fabulous and ready to celebrate the World’s Most Magical Celebration.

The Cavalcade also features floats that are specially equipped for MK’s special birthday. There are giant birthday presents wrapped in bowties. They also have a special “50” marked on the center. There are also street dancers performing special choreographed dances in blue and gold outfits. They bust some super impressive moves. Even the music is incredible. There are original songs written specifically for this special occasion. I even heard people sing along to these super catchy songs because they are that good.

Overall some elements make this incredible parade stand out from the others. You surely won’t be able to see Mickey dressed up in blue and gold after this celebration ends. So you gotta make it because this parade is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Beacons of Magic

Although this feature is technically not like the other Walt Disney World Events, this is still something that you cannot miss. This 50th feature is simply the icons of each park that are dressed up for this special occasion. Know how your favorite characters are dressed up nicely? The central landmarks for all four parks will follow!

At Animal Kingdom, the Tree of Life awakens at night with gorgeous lights and pixie dust. You will see animals dancing around the branches, fireflies shining like little stars, and other incredible effects.

Hollywood Studios’ Tower of Terror gets a golden makeover as it shines with gold and blue highlights. It almost doesn’t look scary anymore.

EPCOT’s Spaceship Earth sets up an incredible light show that will blow you away. It is almost indescribable.

Last but not least is the Cinderella Castle dollied up with golden ribbons, golden banners, and other golden decorations. On top of that, there is a giant “50” at the center commemorating her seniority. She even gets to have some beautiful projections that make her stand out from the other castle.

You will not be disappointed when you see these fabulous 4 landmarks light up for these extra magical times!

Enchantment is a blend of fireworks, projections, and music that is guaranteed to make tourists emotional. The pyrotechnics are incredible. You get to see massive rocket explosions that completely invade the sky. You will think that this is a New Year’s fireworks show.

The projections are also one of a kind. You will get to see a movie through the castle itself. What’s even more incredible is that the projections now extend to Main Street. This has never been done before!

And last but not least the music. Disney has orchestrated special original instrumentation that sounds like the score of a classic movie. The music is incredible and completes the 1000%. If it weren’t for the music, would you feel any emotion?

Harmonious

If people were to ask me what the biggest highlight of these special Walt Disney World Events to me is…. it is going to be Harmonious. This is the absolute most spectacular, gratifying, mind-shattering, and incredible spectacle to ever grace the planet. I will tell you why!

First of all, the effects are beyond extraordinary. Harmonious takes place in the center of World Showcase Lagoon. The center has massive structures that house giant mechanical arms and a giant ring that all activate during the night. When the show kicks in, the arms move around and make waterfalls. The massive ring projects movie scenes and other special effects. On top of these incredible waterworks, fireworks light up above the lagoon, giving us some of the greatest visuals ever.

The music is also amazing. You would mostly get classic Disney songs reimagined in their movies’ respective languages. For example, Moana is sung in a Native Polynesian language, Beauty and the Beast in French, and Coco in Spanish. Yes! There is a Coco scene and I lost my mind when I saw it!
