5 Of The Best Dessert Places In Anchorage To Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth
I am a sweet tooth kind of girl. I mean I would have French toast for breakfast, cake for lunch, and ice cream for dinner if calories didn’t exist. But while I can’t eat what my heart desires every day, I do occasionally treat myself. When I do want to live in a moment of sweet sweet food bliss these are five of the best dessert places in Anchorage I love to go to.
1. Fire Island Rustic Bakeshop
I can’t even talk about this place without salivating. This downtown bakeshop has chocolate croissants, danishes, scones, tarts, cupcakes, cookies, and every type of sweet bread you can think of. And it’s all made right in front of your eyes every morning. I dare you to go there and not buy a sweet treat.
2. Great Harvest Bakery
This place literally has a menu labeled “Bread & Sweets”…. yeah I’m sold. This bakery has a rotating menu consisting of cookies, muffins, scones, bars, and pound breads that change daily. Not to mention that their breads are the best in town. I have literally ran a 5 mile race just to get the free bread they offer to finishers. It’s that good.
3. Sweet Caribou
Macaroons. Beautiful, colorful, and delicious macaroons. This local hot spot specializes in every type of macaroon you could think of, but if that’s not your thing they also offer unique cupcakes like Rollo flavored and birthday cake which are to die for.
4. Modern Dwellers Chocolate Lounge
This is the perfect place for chocolate lovers. At this beautiful spot, guests can drink chocolate, or eat it in delicacies from truffles to bonbons. I also love that this place offers vegan chocolate as well, switch is a big bonus for those of us with sweet tooth’s who can’t stomach dairy. A bonus of this place is that their gourmet coffee drinks are just as impressive as their chocolate.
5. Roll In Ice Creamery
You scream, I scream, we all scream for… Ice cream! Seriously this is my go-to dessert, so when I put this list together, I had to include an ice cream place. This place may be on the new side, but I love their rolled ice cream and they have tons of options to add on top. They are shaking up the ice cream game and I’m a fan for sure. If you are looking for a small twist on a classic dessert, this place is definitely worth checking out.
