The Best Coconut Oil Face Mask Recipes

The benefits of coconut oil are almost endless. It’s a moisturizer, rejuvenator, and helps with dry skin and irritations, such as acne. One of the best and easiest ways to incorporate the oil into your beauty regime is in the form of a face mask. To help you out, here are the best coconut oil face mask recipes!

1. Coconut Oil and Honey

Courtesy of Coconuts and Kettlebells here is a great face mask recipe that also uses honey. Honey is a fab skin product because it is naturally antibacterial, making it great for acne-prone skin and other inflammatory conditions.

Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons coconut oil
  • 1.5 teaspoons raw, unpasteurized honey

Method:

Mix together the honey and coconut oil with a toothpick or small spoon. If the mixture is too viscous, put it in the fridge for 5-10 minutes. Once it’s hardened slightly, remove from the fridge and whip it with a spoon. After cleansing your skin, use small circular strokes to apply the face mask with your fingers. Leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes and enjoy!

2. Coconut Oil and Oatmeal

Oatmeal is a great anti-acne ingredient because it soothes inflammation and helps restore your skin’s natural pH balance. Here’s the recipe for clearer skin by SIO Beauty.

Ingredients:

  • Coconut oil
  • Oatmeal
  • Warm water

Method:

Add 3 tablespoons of oatmeal and 1/4 cup of warm water into a mixing bowl and mix until you have created a paste. Mix in 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, apply the mixture to your face and let it sit for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, gently massage your entire face using small circular motions for 5 minutes. This will help remove dead skin cells that can clog sensitive pores. Finally, rinse the mask off with cool or lukewarm water and pat skin dry with a soft, clean towel!

3. Coconut Oil and Baking Soda

Baking soda is surprisingly good for your skin. Since it is alkaline, it balances the pH levels of your skin and helps to exfoliate dead skin cells by clearing your pores and eliminating blackheads. Beauti Secrets is to thank for this great recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp. coconut oil
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
