The Best Clean Eating Snacks To Keep Your Fueled Throughout The Day

Let’s face it, this generation absolutely sucks when it comes to nourishing ourselves half the time. We’re good ate a lot of things but when it comes to taking the time to eat, we suck and for the sake of our health, we need to change that nasty habit. We are constantly on the go as students, or interns and especially when it’s our time to venture out into the real world.

The worst thing we do is get lazy and brush off eating by saying, “Ill grab something later.” But I have a challenge for you. For one week, pack yourself a few of these super easy clean eating snacks and take them with you wherever you go. You’ll be amazed at how much better you’ll feel throughout the day!

Boiled Eggs

Boiled eggs are one of my personal favorite clean eating snacks because they are super easy to make and such a great source of protein to have when you’re on the go. Just boil a few of them before the busy week starts and pre-peel them, throw them into a Ziplock baggie and have yourself a great little snack when you’re out and about and start to feel a little hunger coming on. The best part about a boiled egg though is that you can customize how you like them cooked. If you like a hard yolk, boil for about nine minutes after the water starts to bubble but if you prefer a little softer, then begin to shave minutes off that time until you reach your favorite consistency.

Grapes

A great snack to have around with you is a little baggie of grapes. Grapes are filled with nutrients that will power you through your day and leave you feeling satisfied after a strike of hunger. Grapes typically have a good amount of natural sugar in them so if you’re the type to experience low blood sugar, then grapes are a perfect clean eating snack for you.

Celery and Nut Butter

Can I just say how much I love celery with peanut butter? It’s so delicious together and let’s be honest, celery kind of sucks on its own but is filled with awesome vitamins. Pair it with whatever kind of nut butter you prefer and have yourself an awesome snack that keeps you filled up and fuelled for hours.

Popcorn

You can never go wrong with a little bag of popcorn because not only is it tasty but the nutrition numbers are super low so you can get away with snacking on three cups at a time if you want to. Pop it yourself and add in your own natural flavouring like rosemary and salt or powdered peanut butter.

Watermelon

Watermelon is an awesome source of good carbohydrates that will keep you fuller for much longer. Plus, the fact that its literally full of fluids will keep you hydrated, which is great for the non-water drinkers out there. Squeeze a little lemon on it for additional flavor and a bit of a detox kick and enjoy wherever you are.

Pomegranate

A delicious fruit that is also a great source of good carbs is the pomegranate. They are a little intimidating to open up but once you do, it’s easy to scrape all the seeds out into a Tupperware and store for the week. You can also purchase pre-peeled pomegranate seeds which makes life a little easier if you need to pick up a quick snack at the store. You’ll be surprised how full you feel after snacking on this one.

Greek Yogurt

Greek yogurt is great because you can do so much with it. I love to buy the plain and add my own flavoring to it by throwing in some protein powder and fruit. A tasty mix is chocolate protein powder, mixed in with powdered peanut butter, some banana and a little granola. It’s like my own personal funky monkey!

Dark Chocolate

Did you know having a square of dark chocolate a day is actually known to be somewhat good for you? Which is like the best news ever. If you’re not a fan of dark chocolate but absolutely love sweets, then train your palate to enjoy it. Each time you want something sweet, pick up darker and darker each time, eventually, you will love dark chocolate just as much as milk.

Roasted Chickpeas

This is a fun, do it yourself kind of snack that you can customize as well. Grab a can of chickpeas and roast them in the oven with a little oil and whatever spices you fancy. I love a little chipotle and salt on mine, but you can even make them sweet by adding some sugar and a bit of cinnamon. The crunchy snack is a great way to indulge in some clean eating.

Sweet Potato and Root Vegetable Chips

You can pick these up in the grocery store or make them yourself, both are great options whenever you crave the salt of a chip. Super crunchy and flavourful but still clean to eat, a root chip or sweet potato chip will be your new go-to clean eating snack when you crave a crunch.

What clean eating snacks do you bring along to stay energized throughout the day?
