Travel as much as you can. As far as you can. As long as you can. Life’s not meant to be lived in one place. I was fortunate to be able to take a road trip around Europe last year. Here are my top 10 best cities in Europe for college students! Enjoy!
Bienvenue a France! The most visited city in Europe is by no surprise, one of the most beautiful. Paris seems to make every aspect of traveling and exploring more exciting. From the patisseries to the cafés, there are so many delicious foods to try in France. As for sightseeing, the Eiffel Tower is a must-see, especially at night. Climb the stairs or take the elevator to the viewing floor and see all of the beauty Paris has to offer. If you’re into art and sculptures, the Louvre is your go-to. Don’t forget to take a ride around the Arc de Triompf and see all of the luxury stores on the Champs-Élysées.
Hola España! Barcelona is a great place to visit if you want the beach and city life in one! Explore the Gothic Quarter and get lost in the beautiful gothic architecture. There’s also the famous Sagrada Familia built by Gaudi. Sangria and Pinxtos, Basque bite sized appitizers, are a must when visiting Spain. At the end of the day, head to the pier at the beach to catch the sun set!
Say “Ciao!” to the city bulit on water. What an incredible city to visit. Take a gondola ride along Venice’s canals and admire the brightly colored buildings. This unique city is one you will definitely fall in love with. Don’t forget to try a shot of lemoncello, Italy’s famous lemon liquor. Then, finish off with a nice scoop of homemade gelato!
4. Edinburgh, Scotland
Travel north to the lovely land of Scotland! In Edinburg, don’t forget to take a picture with the red telephone booths! Wander the city and take lots of pictures of the old Scottish architecture. Don’t forget to try Scottish fudge & whiskey!
Discover the beautiful city of Sorrento. A calm town on the coast of Italy. There are many beautiful streets to take pictures of. Get lost in the winding streets and treat yourself to some delicious gelato!
Prague is a very unique city. The city is lively with brightly painted buildings and many famous sight-seeing points. One of the most popular is the John Lennon wall. Graffiti artists leave their mark on the wall making it a great photo opportunity!
France’s 2nd largest city is Lyon! There are many things to do in Lyon. My favorite is a visit to the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière. Step inside and discover beautiful ceiling art work. It is definitely a sight to see! Outside of the Basilica you can see the entire city of Lyon, it is especially beautiful at night!
Geneva is a beautiful city near the border of Switzerland and France. One of my favorite memories was a trip to the United Nations in Geneva. If you want to be inspired, I highly recommend a visit here! Watch powerful leaders of countries all over the world make important decisions and learn more about the UN here!
If you want to experience a small French town, Chambéry is the place to go. Every March, this city located in the French Alps puts on one of the best EDM music fesivals of the year! People from all over Europe come to enjoy music of famous DJs from all over the world.
Another great Italian city to visit. If you love to shop, you must absolutely make a stop in Milano. Take a trip to the Plazza della Scalla, where you’ll find stores like Prada and Gucci! This city is also filled with beautiful architecture! You can’t forget about the pasta!
I hope this post inspires you to take a trip to Europe! You never know what you’ll discover!
