Having a stressful week requires just one thing, a weekend getaway! A way to relax and enjoy a different habitat while forgetting all the burdens you have back home is sometimes just what we need. Wildwood is a city in Cape May County, located in New Jersey and it’s a summer resort destination along the Jersey Shore. It’s a great location if you like amusement parks, since they have a few water parks including Raging Waters Water Park, Splash Zone Waterpark and Morey’s Pier & Beachfront Water Parks. You can also visit the Seaport Aquarium or take a stroll around the Mariner’s Pier which is beyond funny to spend time with friends and family. You can also enjoy a bit of the local cuisine or take a trip around the amazing candy store known as the Original Fudge Kitchen. Plus, you will be right on the beach if salty feet and getting a tan is what you need.
Cape Ann is located less than an hour north of Boston and its home to the charming village of Rockport and the fishing community of Gloucester. You will also find historic lighthouses like the Eastern point Lighthouse, lobster snacks, the Good Harbor Beach and even you could take a visit to the Hammond Castle. There are also a few museums and art galleries that sometimes have no entrance fee to take tour on if you like spending your days in between history. Seattle is the biggest city in the Pacific Northwest and a great getaway destination for the weekend! You can be transported back to 1970 by stepping into the Pike Place Market where you will find lots of stuff to get from crafts to fruits and veggies. Then you can visit the Space Needle known for being Seattle’s iconic symbol for more than 60 years. There are quite a few art galleries and museums you could find around the city also to learn more about it. Or if you are up for a more relax outdoor activity be sure to visit the Olympic Sculpture Park.
Known as the island that enchants you, Puerto Rico’s capital San Juan is a must go as a weekend getaway. The beach with turquoise and blueish waters is a great way of enjoying the sun and forgetting all your troubles. If you want to you can also visit some historic castles while in the city, including Castillo San Felipe del Morro and Castillo de San Cristobal. Then you could take a stroll around Paseo de la Princesa, Plaza Las Americas or at Fortaleza Street where you could even enjoy a bit of the local cuisine. Don’t forget to enjoy the amazing sunsets at the beach and if you are feeling adventurous! Late night be sure to enjoy the parties with exquisite Latin music you can find around the city!
