The Best Burgers In Los Angeles You Have To Try

The United States is known for its diverse and delicious cuisine. Most of all, citizens are proud of traditional American cuisine. Like other world countries’ cuisines, there are a plethora of different dishes that originate from America.

Apple Pie, Mac ‘n’ Cheese, Clam Chowder, Soft Pretzels, and Crab Cakes—to name a few—are among the favorites for American classic dishes. However, while burgers are part of this group, Burgers are in an elite group of the top American food items as well. A traditional burger is made with ground meat and certain seasoning options and can be grilled rare, medium-rare, medium, medium-well, or well-done.

The patties don’t have to be made with only beef as there is a variety of different options to use for the base such as ahi tuna, turkey, chicken, lamb, and vegetables (this option for vegans and vegetarians). There are also a plethora of condiments and sauces to put on your burger. Use the appropriate and most common ones depending on what the protein of your patties is.

As the second-largest city in the country, Los Angeles has many restaurants, all of various cuisines and dining types. Given that burgers are a top staple in American cuisine, LA has more burger restaurants or restaurants which feature burger(s) on their menus. As there are a lot of fast food places (ex: McDonald’s and Burger King) or burger restaurants with locations across the nation (ex: Umami Burger), those types of places will not be featured on this list. With that being said, here are 5 of the best burgers in L.A. you have to try!

1. The Bolo Burger – Rossoblu:

Rossoblu is an Italian restaurant that is in Downtown Los Angeles and its food pays homage to Bologna, Italy, where chef and owner Steve Samson spent many summers during his childhood. Although the fancy Italian restaurant is well-known in Los Angeles for its pasta and ragu bolognese sauce (which is among the best in the city), the Bolo Burger is another standout dish to try while dining at this Downtown LA hotspot.

The meat patty for the Bolo Burger is made with prime beef and its condiments are cabbage slaw, fontina cheese, and Rossoblu’s ragu bolognese sauce. A milk bun is used as this burger’s bun. The Bolo Burger at Rossoblu is a true masterpiece and is only available on the restaurant’s brunch menu. So, the next time you need a restaurant to go to for Sunday brunch in Los Angeles, be sure to go to Rossoblu!

2. The Boner Burger – Animal:

One of Los Angeles’s most famous restaurants, Animal, is run by the well-known chef duo Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo, who run a group of restaurants in the city, which includes Animal, Petit Trois (See #4), and Jon & Vinny’s. One of Animal’s best and signature dishes is The Boner Burger, which is on the brunch menu and is mostly a special offered most nights of the week for dinner.

The Boner Burger is highly regarded by customers and food critics as one of the best and most unique burgers across Los Angeles. It is a meat patty made with ground chuck, short rib, bone marrow and topped off with jack cheese, caramelized onions, poblano peppers, and Animal’s special ‘420 sauce.’ What makes the Boner Burger unique is that instead of using a traditional hamburger bun, all of the burger’s components are on toasted and buttered slices of rye bread.

3. Yuki’s Spicy Tuna Hamburger – 26 Beach Restaurant:

Whenever you are in Venice Beach, one of the best food places that you got to dine at is 26 Beach Restaurant. The place is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day of the week and offers brunch on Sundays.

26 Beach offers a variety of different dishes on its menu, including some of the most delicious and one-of-a-kind burgers in all of Los Angeles. One should consider ordering Yuki’s Ahi Tuna Hamburger, one of the restaurant’s three ‘Sushi Burger’ options. Given that Los Angeles is right by the Pacific ocean, 26 Beach takes advantage of the fresh seafood to create a surf ‘n’ turf-like burger. Yuki’s Ahi Tuna Hamburger consists of an Angus beef patty topped off with ahi tuna (mixed with various Japanese spices), green onions, nori, sushi ginger, tomato, iceberg lettuce, and wasabi-shoyu-mayonnaise.

The Big Mec Double Cheeseburger consists of two seared ground beef patties topped off with American cheese, caramelized onions, and bordelaise sauce (a red wine sauce with some foie gras). What a bomb of different flavors packed into a single burger! This is one of the messiest burgers to eat in Los Angeles but once you leave Petit Trois, you will be so satisfied with your meal—with a full stomach.
