The Best Breweries In Los Angeles That You’ll Love

If you’re in the area looking for local craft beers and great ambiance to drink with your friends, you’ll love these seven best breweries in Los Angeles that each deliver their own unique take on ale.

1. El Segundo Brewing

This little gem located near the LAX airport has a very long beer list with big portions. If you love IPAs, this is the spot for you! Unfortunately, they don’t have food the food trucks that are often parked outside make up for it. Make sure you try a sample of beers as they do have many options. On weekends at night it does get very crowded for the small space it is, so make sure to come early to grab a sit-in table, otherwise it’s standing room only.

2. Yorkshire Square

Yorkshire Square in Torrance specializes in cask ale (or also known as ‘real ale’ in the United Kingdom) that doesn’t  get filtered or the added carbonation that comes with keg ale. One important thing to know is that cask ale is served warmer than the typical beer. Yorkshire Square is also a great hangout spot to bring your friends and family as they have board games, darts, and a fair amount of seating. Like a lot of other breweries, they have food trucks that come occasionally. If you come visit Yorkshire Square don’t expect any IPAs on their list. Instead, look forward to a more British-style of ales you can try.

3. Arts District Brewing

This brewery located in Downtown L.A. serves more than just beers! They have actual meals and other hard liquor options for non-beer drinkers, which makes it a perfect place for you to bring all your friends. Although there can be limited seating options in comparison to the amount of people that come on weekends, they have the options to play skeeball and various arcade games or take overcrowded pictures with friends in a photo booth while you enjoy your craft beer. Since this brewery is located in the Arts District of Los Angeles, expect to have a little trouble finding parking!

4. Boomtown Brewery

Like the other breweries in Los Angeles on this list, Boomtown Brewery also located in the Arts District downtown has no shortage of beer options. Boomtown Brewery is totally Instagrammable too, with string lights and artwork all over the place. Beyond beer, they have large open spaces great for big groups. They also have fun activities like darts, pool, and board games to keep you entertained (although they come with a small charge), so you can definitely linger for awhile with some friends here.

5. 6th & La Brea Brewery & Restaurant

Make sure you sample their beer flights at this Los Angeles brewery located in WeHo. They also have a great selection of food that’s reasonably priced and even includes vegan options. It’s always a safe bet to go to a brewery with a bunch of your friends that serves actual food, so you can all stay in one place and it’s easier to drink responsibly. If you come at the right time (3-6pm) on weekends, they do have happy hour, so make sure to bring your coworkers along for a fun time after a long day.

Located in Chinatown, Highland Park Brewery is one of the most favored breweries in Los Angeles by locals. This brewery provides a chill ambiance that’s great for both big and small groups. As expected, popular places like this get crowded on weekends. Similar to the other breweries in Los Angeles mentioned on this list, they have many options for beers including unique IPAs, lagers, and sours. For non-beer drinking friends, they also have a short selection of wines available!

7. Beer Belly

This brewery in Koreatown is known for their duck-centric food menu and rotating craft beer selection making them unique to other breweries in Los Angeles and popular among locals. With an esteemed Zagat rating and a feature on Food Network’s Diners, Dive-ins, and Drives, Beer Belly is one of those places that features a signature dish every newcomer must try, which in their case is the “Death by Duck fries.” Although it’s a bit pricey, most guests swear up and down that it’s worth it since you get great beer, great food, and great ambiance to enjoy with a solid group of friends.
